Marriage of convenience, the two were important figures in the niche they work in, fox loved the idea of a union with one of his best clients and derek's father finally found something useful to do with his least favorite son.

It didn't work. Hertha kept the divorce and custody of the daughter. Derek begs them to at least keep the marriage on paper for their mutual benefit. Hertha accepts with a few conditions. You're absolutely right about that, Hertha's mother has always tried to avoid bringing a child into her situation ever since she found out about the pregnancy. She tried to prevent Hertha from being born several times and Strade even had to physically restrain and sedate her so that she wouldn't try anything. After hertha was born and she was in a more "stable" mental state she stopped such tendencies but after the failed escape attempt ? She hit rock bottom and considered taking Hertha with her in an attempt to free them from whatever Strade was planning, she just didn't go through with it because the ways of making it at least definitive were scarce and she would rather die than make Hertha suffer like that.

In the end, she decided to go it alone for fear of causing them more suffering (she's absolutely an obsessor in strade's shadow waiting for his day to strike).

i think i already talked about how lawrence found violet (my memory sucks and even though i'm their creator i still get things mixed up) but basically (again guys i updated the story so if there's a different old post ignore it) lawrence ended up going after violet, after their mother basically begged him to keep his distance from them (he ignored it btw) violet was at a neighbor's house who was an irresponsible schoolgirl who of course let law take violet since he claimed to be their father (not that she actually cared). Since then lawrence has kind of raised violet.

Violet's mother was a victim of lawrence who escaped and had the misfortune to bump into him a while later (she was not smart at all 🥀)

Random facts about them both:

- Violet has brown hair like their mother's but after growing up they started dyeing it the same color as lawrence's because they wanted to look more like him (people even confused them).

- Violet and lawrence are lactose intolerant (hc)

- lawrence has a case of the violet plant called daisy (that would be the name he would give violet if he could choose)

- law and violet would have moved to some secluded place in an alternative reality

- violet is very good at chess but loses to him at checkers

- thalassophobia runs in the family

- violet wouldn't survive the last of us, law maybe a few months (two with no sense of direction or strategy. 100% impulsive)

I have a little headcanon about Hertha- I feel like she watched a lot of Happy Tree Friends as a child, because that’s Strade’s idea of a kids show (meaning he probably went ‘oh, that’s a cartoon. Cool, have at it!’) since gore is so normal to him, you know? Or would he try to shield her from that stuff a little, at least when she was young?

I'd say that Strade didn't think much when he saw her watching, like he stopped for 3 seconds analyzing the TV and then went on doing whatever he was going to do.

I wouldn't say he purposely put her to watch it, but he wouldn't forbid her from watching it either (depending on how old she is). I think he himself would end up sitting down to watch and comment on the gory scenes as if he'd seen a funny video on the internet (maybe get some inspiration?)
