pairings: max verstappen x teen daughter!reader

in which: mia verstappen passed her driving test and max couldn’t be more prouder of her..

Mia Verstappen, the 18 year old who knew as she soon as she turned the legal age to start driving, she was going to get her driving license.

Max Verstappen, her father, also didn’t want to waste anytime and took her out in one of his cars to teach his daughter.

how did that go?

“Papa! Seriously? You’re letting me driving the Porsche?” Mia exclaimed as she walked outside to see her father leaning against his Porsche 911 GT3.

“Yeah? What’s wrong about that? I’m not teaching you in some normal car” Max replied with a smile on his face.

“I mean at least it’s not the Valkyrie,” Mia mumbled as her father leaned off the car to open the driver's side door.

"Liefje, you're my daughter and it means driving one of the best, c’mon get in!" Max said.

Mia slid into the driver's seat as she watched Max go around to the passenger side and getting in.

"Alright, let’s get you started" Max said, his tone was patient, but Mia knew that he was going to get straight to the point.

"Firstly, adjust your seat so you are close enough to the pedals but not too close, then you should check your mirrors but they are all fine and finally most importantly is wearing your seatbelt."

Mia laughed slightly and was going to jokingly say that she has to remind Max all the time about putting his seatbeat on, but knew this wasn’t the time.

"All done! Papa, what about the steering wheel? Where should I put my hands?," Mia asked quietly, feeling like that was a stupid question.

“Hey, no questions are stupid already? You’re a learner. Just think about the steering wheel as a clock, put your hands on 10 and 2,” Max said softly.

Max leaned back in his seat, watching Mia as she did that and went over every instruction again he had told her. He looked in her with pride, brushing back his emotions as he couldn’t believe that his daughter was already this age and learning to drive.

"You okay? All good?” Max asked as Mia nodded.

“Alright, put your foot on the brake and then press the ignition," Max said.

Mia put her foot on the brake before pressing the button once more. The engine purred to life beneath them, which made Mia’s face lit up with excitement.

“I didn’t break it!” Mia exclaimed as Max shook his head and let out a light laugh.

“No you didn’t Liefje, definitely my daughter that’s for sure! Now, slowly move off and we’ll go through all the basics,” Max told her.

…it’s fair to say that Mia Verstappen was just a natural at driving..

I mean, it did make sense as her father is a multiple f1 world champion.

Max knew that it wouldn’t take Mia long to pass her test if he continued to go out in the car with her and get her one of the best driving instructors in Monaco.

and that’s what he did.

Today was the day.

Mia Verstappen’s driving test.

She was very anxious, she wanted to pass first time and then able to just go out in the car on her own. But Mia knew she couldn’t think that far ahead yet.

“Liefje, look at me,” Max said with a soft tone as Mia looked up to him.

“No matter what happens today, it’s alright. If you do fail we will just practise even harder, but I believe that you won’t need to worry about that” Max told her.

“Papa—“ but a car honk made her stop as she knew it was her driving instructor outside ready to go on a final hour drive before going to her test.

Mia looked up to her father with an anxious look, he just pulled her into a tight hug and kissing her forehead.

“You’ll be fine Mi, I believe you. Don’t overwhelm yourself as if it doesn’t work out today it’s okay and you can try again,” Max added.

“Alright, I can do this” Mia mumbled as the father-daughter walked outside and Mia made her way over to her driving instructor.

“Love you papa!” Mia added before getting into the car.

Max watched her driving with a mixture of pride and slight anxiously as he knew how much this meant to her if she passed.

…he could only wait until she got home

Mia Verstappen had done it.

Passed her driving test with no faults or anything.

The 18 year old couldn’t wait to get home to her father.

Max slightly jumped at he heard the front door opening and slamming shut, but then he heard the familiar voice of her daughter and instantly got up.

“PAPA!!”

Once Mia saw her father she ran to him and jumped into his arms, it’s a good thing her father was an athlete and had a good reaction time.

“I passed!!” Mia exclaimed as Max hugged her tightly.

“I’m so proud of you Mi, I knew you could do it!” Max said as they pulled away from the hug.

“No faults or anything as well! The examiner said that I was one of the best drivers he’d ever seen!” Mia added with some sass towards the end.

Max chuckled before pulling her into another hug.

“Alright, let’s not get too ahead of yourself you will always be second best from me” Max told her with a grin of his face as Mia pushed him away.

“I’m kidding Liefje, now what car do you want?” Max asked as Mia face lit up.

lunahamilton: World Champion.

I’m still trying to figure out how I’ve actually achieved this and how I can describe this feeling to you all. I have dreamt about this since I was a little kid and never even thought I would even reach it into F1, let alone have a world championship under my name in my 2nd season.

I just also want to thank everyone at mercedesamgf1 who is involved in this team, I wouldn't have achieved this without all your hard work and dedication. This is just been an incredible year with the teamwork and I just thank you for the last 2 years, I really have felt at home in this team and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us all, love you guyss🖤

Dad, it was very hard for me at the beginning of being a female in a male dominated sport and to try to prove to everyone I'm not only here just because I am your daughter. You helped me through it all and told me ignore it all, you got me through all the highs and lows of my career so far and I can't thank you enough. lewishamilton: Ever since you were a little kid, you fell in love with this sport. I tried my hardest to try and get you into a different sport, but you just fell in love with racing and I knew that there was no way of going back from it.

You have had to overcome so much to get where you are today, some days were worse than others and there has been many ups and downs of your career so far, but I’m very proud of you for not giving it up as look where you are now and what you just achieved.

Achieving a world championship title at just 19 years old, breaking the record of the youngest ever and making history is the sport by being the first ever female driver to become world champion. This will be in the history books and will always be looked back on in years to come, you’ve inspired those young girls just like you was a few years ago to show them that it is possible.

What a season it has been for us, it’s been an incredible year having this championship battle with you, I really shouldn’t of told you my style of racing as you definitely took advantage of that this season.

I may have taught you a lot of things but it all comes down to your dedication and hard work. This is just the beginning of it all and I’m so proud of you, I love you so much kiddo❤️

Lewis Hamilton, 7x world champion ~ trying to break the record to become an 8x world champion.

Luna Hamilton, first female f1 driver ~ trying to become the first ever female formula 1 world champion.

The father-daughter duo have equal points heading to the final race in Abu Dhabi..

Who will become the f1 world champion..?

When the father-daughter Hamilton duo walked into the paddock, it seemed like the whole paddock had their focus on them and had all their cameras pointed in their direction and started bombarding them with questions.

“Lewis how you feeling? You could be become a 8x world champion!”

“Luna, do you think you can beat your father?”

“Luna, you can become the youngest ever world champion today!”

“No matter who wins, another title will be added to the Hamilton name! How you feeling about that Lewis and Luna?”

“I told you we should have gone around the back,” Luna mumbled to her father, who had a protective arm around her shoulder so she wouldn’t get lost with all the cameramen crowding them.

“You were right,” Lewis said as he guided them to exclusive area in the paddock just for the drivers. “You two know how to make an entrance” George joked as he spotted his former and current teammates.

“Blame dad, he didn’t listen to me when I said we should take the back away” Luna added. “I guess you should of listen to the kiddo, mate” Charles told his teammate as they joined the three of them.

“I’m always right!” Luna sassed as Lewis pushed her slightly, which made George and Charles laugh at the pair. “I don’t know where you got this attitude from” Lewis mumbled, which just led to Luna smiling innocently to him.

"This race will be written in the history books not matter what happens, it’s going to another title added to the Hamilton name, but which Hamilton will it be?”

"We are about to find that out, I wouldn't take your eyes of this race because it's going to be filled with everything"

"It's light out and away we go!"

"Well, what a season Lewis and Luna have given us, it’s been amazing and very entertaining to watch the father-daughter duo fighting it out and they both deserve the title, however it can only be won by one-

-we have watched her overcome every possible hurdle and challenge, since the moment she stepped into the paddock at the beginning of the season and Luna has faced it all, and today is the day she will never forgot-

-LUNA HAMILTON CROSSES THE LINE AND IS THE FORMULA 1 WORLD CHAMPION!”

R: “You’ve done it Lu! You’ve done it! World Champion!! Congrats kiddo!!”

L: “AHHHH!!! WOOOHOOOO!!! We did it!! We did it!!! Oh woww thank you guys so so much I actually can’t believe it!! World champion babyyyyy!!!

R: “Congratulations Lu! What a beautiful drive today, what a season you’ve had! All I can say is welcome to the history books kid, youngest world champion! Drinks on you tonight!”

L: “Ahh thanks Toto, thank you for believe in me and giving me this opportunity I wouldn’t have been able to achieve any of this without you and the whole team!! Let the celebrations begin!!”

R: “Enjoy this moment Lu, we will all be waiting to kick start these celebrations with you!”

L: “We did it Bono! We actually did it!!”

R: “We sure did kiddo!!”

Luna felt so overwhelmed when she was on her cool down lap, she then saw a familiar number #44 Ferrari car drive by the side of her, she looked over to her father who was clapping his hands and Luna made a heart shape with her hands back to him. 

While Luna was still doing her cool down lap, she made a signal to him and he put his thumbs up having the same idea as her. The Mercedes and Ferrari faced opposite each other before doing donuts which made the fans cheer louder, if that was even possible.

After Luna finished putting that show on for the fans with her father, her and George also faced opposite each other and did donuts in front of the Mercedes fans.

Luna soon parked the car and stayed in her seat to try and process everything. She eventually got out the car and ran straight into the arms of her crew. Luna took her helmet and balaclava off before spotted Bono.

“We did it!!” Luna giggled as she felt him lifting her up in a tight hug. “Proud of you kid! You deserve this so much!” Bono told her as she soon spotted her boss.

Luna made her way over to Toto who, like Bono, lifted her in the air as they hugged tightly. Once Luna was back on the ground Susie hugged her tightly.

“Proud of you sweetheart!” Susie said. “Very proud, this will be going down in the history books!” Toto added as Luna wiped the tears away that has fallen down her face.

“Lu!!” She heard many different voices call her name before she was surrounded by them. “My lil sis is a world champion!!” George said. “Congrats muppet, you deserve this!” Lando added.

“Congrats kid!” Charles exclaimed. “Congratulations kiddo!” Max said as he squeezed her shoulders. “Thank you guys!!” Luna told them with a big smile on her face.

Luna still hadn’t been able to find her father yet, as she had been surrounded by all her crew and the rest of the drivers, she hadn’t been able to get a moment with just him..

Luna looked over to the Ferrari crew and see her father there with her grandparents. Luna ignored all the cameras and made her way over.

Lewis turned around at the right time to catch his daughter in his arms. The father-daughter duo could hear the sound of the fans cheering and cameras flashing, but they didn’t care.

“I’m so proud of you Lu, you did it! World Champion! You have proven so many people wrong today and welcome to the history books kiddo” Lewis said softly.

“I couldn’t have done this without you dad! And I’m sorry that I’ve ruined your chance of winning your 8th—

“—hey none of that! I would take you winning a championship over me any-day. I don’t want you to think about that, alright? This is your moment and I want you to enjoy it” Lewis told her which made her smile.

Lewis kissed her forehead softly and Luna just stayed in her father’s arms. She soon greeted her grandparents who hugged her tightly.

"What a moment there, between Lewis and Luna! The father and daughter duo! Just another championship added to the Hamilton name!"

Luna Hamilton lifted the World Champion trophy in the air, she heard the roars of cheers from the crowd and all the Mercedes crew when she did.

Before she could even do anything else, she was covered in champagne. Her father, George and Toto being on the podium with her, she knew that they would use every bit of that champagne to spray on her.

Luna just had to accept it and just had a big smile on her face, she knew she couldn't of achieved any of this without her family, her friends, her crew and all the fans.

and just like that..

The Hamilton Legacy was just beginning.

After Y/n finished celebrating with her team, saying goodbye and thanking them she started to make her way into the F1 paddock.

Many cameras turned to face the young girl, due to her being the most recent F2 champion and became she is apart of the Leclerc family.

Y/n made her way into the Ferrari hospitality, she seen her whole family there but before she could reach them she was pulled into a hug from the other Ferrari driver.

“Hey world champ!” Carlos exclaimed as the pair hugged properly before he eventually put her back down.

“Thanks Carlo!” Y/n said with a smile.

“Hey, you’ll be alright and if not you always know my drivers room is open and Rebecca will be there waiting for you” Carlos told her quietly as he seen her looking over at her family.

“Thank you but I should be okay” Y/n replied as she made her way over to her family and sat down between Jade and Alex.

“Hey chéri!” Pascale said as her daughter as she sat down.

“Hi maman” Y/n replied before looking down and fiddling with her hands, before looking back up as her brothers started to talk to her..

“Petite sœur, we shouldn’t of let what happened effect us not going to your race today. We know that you won’t be able to forgive us for that, but we accept that as we shouldn’t have done it..you made us all proud today, you made history and papa would be very proud of you if he was here..” Lorenzo said.

“We watched the podium but we know that wasn’t right and should have been there right at the beginning when the race started. We didn’t know how much pressure you were under until yesterday, how you have dealt with those comments on your own and obviously we made it worse for leaving you out. We are sorry for everything chéri” Charles added.

“I’m sorry for my comments yesterday it wasn’t fair on you. I had no right in saying anything about your performance in F2, you deserved the championship. I know you was proud of me when I drove in FP1 yesterday and I just didn’t actually realise what you have been feeling like..” Arthur told her.

“Petit ami, I’m sorry for not understanding and respecting you. You made your papa proud today and I know he would be disappointed in what we did to you this whole weekend but especially today. I’m proud of you trying to make your own name in the sport and talking a different path than Charles and Arthur. Mercedes are like a family to you and I can see how much they adore you being apart of their team. We are so sorry about everything Y/n..” Pascale said.

Y/n stayed quiet and looked at Charlotte, Alex and Jade who gave a her looks that told her just how apologetic her brothers and mother were.

Y/n got up from her seat and moving over to her mother, who opened her arms for her daughter to fall into her embrace. The three Leclerc brothers smiled at the slight of their mothers and little sister.

“Je t’aime tellement maman,” Y/n mumbled.

“Je t’aime aussi chérie, I’m so sorry for everything..” Pascale whispered.

The mother and daughter stayed in the embrace for a while before Y/n made her way to all of her brothers, from oldest to youngest.

“Je t’aime petit..” Lorenzo said.

“Don’t call me little one, Enzo! We’ve had this conversation before..” Y/n grumbled as he let out a chuckle before moving over to Charles.

“Je t’aime Charlie!” Y/n mumbled into the embrace of her second oldest brother.

“Je t’aime aussi, petite sœur” Charles replied.

“See Enzo! Learn the nicknames from Charles!” Y/n told him which made him roll his eyes with a big smile on his face.

“Come give your favourite brother a hug, sœur!” Arthur said which led to Charles and Lorenzo giving death stares as they watched their two youngest siblings hug.

“Not her favourite brother” Charles grumbled.

“You ain’t her favourite either” Lorenzo told him.

“Yes I am!” Charles argued.

“I’m her favourite! She’s the one hugging me!” Arthur said.

The three Leclerc brothers carried on arguing among themselves about who their little sister’s favourite was, while Y/n was just shaking her head but smiling at her brothers while they argue about the same thing that they argue about on the daily.

But, all that Y/n knows now is that..

The Leclerc Family are back to being a family again.

Y/n was standing next to her mother and Arthur in the back of the Ferrari garage, the race was coming to an end and she knew that her brother be getting on the podium for the final race of the season.

She gave a wave to the camera once she seen herself on being filmed on one of the scenes, she knew that her future in the sport would be talked about..

“-there’s Y/n Leclerc, most recent formula 2 champion in the Ferrari garage cheering on her older brother with the whole family. I wonder if we will see her join the grid next year!” Crofty said as the cameras were panned on the young girl and her family.

“It’s really interesting with her being apart of the Mercedes junior team and them having a seat open for next year, obviously been a lot of pressure on her ever since Charles has been in the sport and people have questioned why she didn’t choose to join Ferrari to be with Charles and Arthur as well” Martin added.

“I think it’s good to see that she’s trying to create a name for herself and choose a different path, I believe her and Mercedes is going to become something special” Jenson said.

Y/n clapped along with the Ferrari team as their two drivers finished P2-P3 for the final race. Sadly it wasn’t enough for the Constructions Championship, which she knew her older brother would be annoyed about.

“C’mon, let’s get to the podium!” Arthur told her. Y/n made her way way towards the podium with her family, she watched the top 3 getting out the cars before going to their crew.

“Hey, congrats champion!” Y/n called over to Lando as the Mclaren driver walked over and the pair did a fist bump.

“Hey look at you, F2 champ!” Lando added as Y/n smiled.

“Drinks on us tonight?” Y/n joked as Lando laughed before he left to greet his family just as Charles made his over.

Everyone took in turns hugging Charles before he got to Y/n, who he hugged tightly and lifting her up slightly which made her giggle and the rest of the family smiled at the pair.

“Proud of you” Y/n whispered to her older brother which made him smile.

“I’m more proud of you,” Charles added before a certain someone interrupted them by calling Y/n’s name.

“Little Leclerc! Congrats F2 Champ!” Max said as he hugged Y/n.

“Thanks Max, congrats to you too. I haven’t seen you since you became a 4-time world champion” Y/n told him.

“Thanks Y/n, going to be fun racing against you when you get up here” Max added which made her smile.

“It definitely will be fun, I can only dream” Y/n replied.

A few moments later, Charles was called for his interview before his whole family cheered when he stood on the podium. Y/n had a big smile on her face watching her older brother.

She glanced over and see Toto looking at her with Lewis by his side and they gave her a certain look…

Charlie, congrats this season! The win in Monaco will always be a very very special moment for you and the whole family, you’ve had ups and downs this season but you’ll always be someone who I look up to. Congrats this season, next year is going to special❤️

Lewis, thank you for everything. Ever since I joined the Mercedes junior team you were always looked out for me, taught me a lot, always on my side and overall become a mentor to me. I’m going to miss you the garage and it’s going to be strange not seeing you there, however you can’t get away from me even in the Ferrari garage as you are becoming my brother’s teammate (please beat his arse). Merci Lewis and welcome to the Ferrari family!!

Carlo!! Going to be strange not seeing you and my brother looking in love with each other any more in the garage, moving on quickly :). Thanks for always being there and cheering me up when I needed it, you’ve become like brother to me and your apart of the family now. You deserve better next year, however I will be there cheering you now, love u broo!!

When Y/n parked her car in the P1 spot, she stayed there for a few minutes before eventually getting out. She stood on the front of the car in celebration before jumping down and running to her team.

“Y/n! You did it!” Ollie shouted as the pair hugged tightly.

“World champion!!” Kimi called as he joined the pair hugging.

“Thanks guys!!” Y/n giggled before taking her helmet and balaclava off.

After Y/n got weighed and had a sip of water, she made her way over to Susie, who pulled her into a tight embrace.

“You shown today that it is possible for girls who have the same dream as you, welcome to the history books. You deserve this so much, sweetheart” Susie told her.

“Thank you for everything you’ve done for me, I wouldn’t be in this position without you” Y/n replied before hugging Toto who congratulated her.

“Proud of you kiddo,” Lewis said as he hugged her tightly.

“Welcome to the club of F2 champions, Y/n!” George added as he and Carmen hugged the young girl after she left Lewis’s embrace.

Y/n greeted all the other Mercedes team that had come to watch her, then did her post race interview before making her way into the cool-down room.

After some time, she was stood on the top spot of the podium listening to the Monaco anthem being played, lifting the championship trophy in the air and getting sprayed with champagne.

In the crown below the podium, she saw the familiar faces of her family watching her..

Y/n knew instantly who that voice was, she turned around to be greeted by her family in front of her. She hugged Charlotte, Alex and Jade as at the end of the day the three of them didn’t do anything.

“Yes? You need anything? I was just about to leave,” Y/n said.

“Congrats on the championship, you deserve it” Arthur told her.

“Oh, now I deserve it do I?” Y/n retorted.

“I know you only seen us at the end, but we did watch it on the tv” Pascale said.

“But none of you weren’t here in person, maman! Do you know how much this moment meant to me? It’s the biggest race in my career and none of you were there!

Look, I know what happened yesterday was intense but I couldn’t hold it in anymore. But I didn’t think you guys wouldn’t come to my race as you knew how important this meant to me. I can’t accept any apology from you, it really hurt me that you weren’t there today despite what happened yesterday..” Y/n told them.

“We knew that we shouldn’t have let what happened yesterday get to us, we are so sorry that we didn’t come today..” Lorenzo replied.

“Just come to the hospitality before my race? We just want to make it up to you” Charles said.

“Please petite sœur,” Arthur added but Y/n stayed quiet.

“Chéri?” Pascale questioned.

“Fine, I’ll see you there” Y/n told them after some silence before leaving towards her garage.

Y/n knew she needed to focus on the race ahead, it was the most important race in her career so far. If she won the championship, it would give her a huge advantage of trying to get on the grid in formula 1 next year.

Her family not being there did hurt her, however after what happened yesterday she was quite glad that they weren’t there as she didn’t want to face them.

Her face lit up when she saw Toto, Susie, Lewis and George and Carmen entering her garage. The young girl ran straight into Lewis’s arms.

“Hey kiddo!” Lewis laughed as he caught the girl who threw herself at him.

“Hi!” Y/n giggled as she pulled away before hugging the other four there.

“How you feeling?” Carmen asked.

“Just nervous, but I think that’s just normal” Y/n said.

“You’ll do amazing Y/n, just think of it as a normal race” George added.

George and Carmen become quite fond of the young girl, ever since she joined the junior team. They took her under their wing and were always there when she needed them, which Y/n was very grateful for.

“Don’t worry about your family, they are just idiots for not being here” Toto said which let to Susie hitting him lightly and everyone chuckle.

“What he is trying to say, don’t think about any of it. All of us will be here for you when you finish the race, no matter what the result” Susie told her softly.

“I appreciate you guys being here so much, so thank you” Y/n said.

The formation lap of the F2 finale was about to start in a few minutes, Y/n was started a solid P3 and with her fellow championship contenders starting lower down, she had the advantage.

“She’s going to win, I just got a feeling” George said.

“We will welcome her to formula 1, if she does” Toto replied which made his two drivers look at him.

“I think she’s perfect choice to replace me,” Lewis added.

“Well let’s hope she wins then,” George said.

“You should probably go back, sweetheart. You don’t want to upset your mother anymore” Susie told her softly.

“Well, the damage has already been done so..” Y/n mumbled as she stood up.

“Keep off twitter kiddo, nothing nice comes from it and I know you too well to know you have been reading stuff” Lewis added.

“Know me too well Lew, anyways see you guys soon” Y/n said before leaving the Mercedes hospitality.

Toto, Susie and Lewis watched Y/n making her way towards Ferrari, trying to avoid cameras and reporters who wanted to know why she wasn’t with her family in Ferrari.

“She would be a perfect replacement for you” Toto said looking at Lewis, who only smiled.

“Y/n!” Pascale called as she seen her enter the Ferrari hospitality. “Hey maman,” Y/n mumbled before sitting down trying to avoid the glares from her and her brothers.

“Ferrari not good enough for you, sœur?” Arthur asked.

“I did watch you both,” Y/n replied.

“But you weren’t there when we got out the car, instead you were too busy talking to Lewis in Mercedes” Charles added.

“C’mon Y/n, we wanted the whole family together and you ruined it on not being there” Lorenzo told her.

Y/n made eye contact with Charlotte, Alex and Jade who gave her faint smiles before she looked down and started to fiddle with her fingers.

“If you were apart of Ferrari, maybe you could have had a chance like Arthur today” Pascale told her which made Y/n look up at her.

“I’m with Mercedes and I ain’t changing my mind, it’s my career you can’t control that” Y/n snapped, making her brothers look at her with widen eyes.

“Hey, don’t talk like that with maman!” Charles warned.

“But she isn’t wrong, Mercedes chose Kimi over you today and most likely for their second seat next year too” Arthur told her, which made Y/n feel her heart drop hearing her own brother say stuff like that.

“Arthur, too far.” Lorenzo replied.

“What? I’m not wrong, am I? She should of won the F2 championship weeks ago but it’s gone down to the final race and she might not even win it” Arthur added.

“F*ck off Arthur,” Y/n snapped.

“No maman! I’ve had enough of you all! Do any of you know how badly I’ve felt today? No, because all you have cared about is the history Charles and Arthur has achieved today! You all have pushed me aside and didn’t even realise I wasn’t even in the garage until someone posted it on Twitter! All I have dealt with today is being compared to Charles and Arthur, how I should be on the same level as them as I’m a ‘Leclerc’, do any of you know how much pressure I have on my back?

People saying why I haven’t joined Ferrari as it runs in the family, I choose Mercedes to be different and to try create my own name in the sport, I’m sorry it’s offended you so much Arthur. Also, sorry I haven’t won the F2 championship already but I don’t even know why are commenting about that as you didn’t win it!

Now, I’m leaving so please leave me alone and just think about I’m apart of this family too, even that may be surprising for some of you!” Y/n told them before leaving.

The Leclerc family instantly feeling guilty when they watched the youngest leaving the hospitality with tears running down her face.

“Breathe kiddo,” Carlos said softly as he had his arms around the young girl and was in an excluded area of the paddock.

“I can’t do this anymore, Carlos” Y/n cried as she wiped her tears.

“Hey! None of that talk, you can’t give up now, you have already achieved so much” Lewis said as she joined the pair.

“But what’s the point anymore?” Y/n mumbled.

“Being named a F2 champion, is a good point to keep going” Lando said as he appeared out of nowhere.

“Listen to the muppet, but seriously you can’t give up now Y/n and I’m proud of the way you stood up towards your family” Carlos told her.

“C’mon, let’s take you back to Mercedes while Carlos and Lando can talk to your brothers” Lewis said giving a look over to the two other drivers who nodded.

While Lewis and Y/n made their back to Ferrari, Carlos told Lando what he heard the Leclerc family saying to Y/n. Soon enough they found Charles and Arthur.

“What is wrong with you both, seriously! She’s your little sister and you say that stuff to her? Your family are the only people who haven’t realised just how much she’s been struggling and says it all!” Carlos exclaimed as they both kept quiet.

“Not saying anything says it all, I wasn’t even there but what Carlos had filled me in with, it tells me that you guys just took it too far” Lando added.

“We’re sorry alright? We all feel guilty, I didn’t think she was feeling this bad” Charles said.

“I was just angry that she wasn’t there when I got out the car today, it would of been amazing to celebrate that moment with her she knows how much it meant to me” Arthur mumbled.

“She is proud of you both, her face lit up when she seen you both on the track together. However, it’s gets too much for her sometimes as she knew from that moment the increasing pressure she would have on her to preform this weekend” Carlos told them.

“Just leave her alone for a bit, she’s going to be with in Mercedes. But you both and whole family need to talk to her before she races this weekend” Lewis said as she approached the four of them.

“We promise,” Charles replied.

Y/n Leclerc, a rising talent that is currently driving in formula 2. She had just entered the f1 paddock to watch both her older brothers drive in FP1 together.

She smiled and waved at the cameras pointing to her, and made her way over to some of the fans that are waiting for her to sign stuff and take photos.

A few fans started to shout over to her..

“Imagine if you were driving today, Y/n!”

“Three Leclerc’s on the grid need to happen!”

“Why are you apart of Mercedes’s junior team and not Ferrari’s?”

“Don’t you feel like the black sheep of your family?”

“You need to get into f1 soon!”

Y/n smiled awkwardly when the fans shouted them, she quickly signed and took photos before heading her way to the Mercedes garage.

“Sweetheart, isn’t your whole family in Ferrari? What you doing here?” Susie Wolff, asked the young girl.

“Y/n, I told you that you don’t need to be anywhere near our garage today as both Arthur and Charles are in FP1 together” Toto said as he saw one of his junior drivers in the garage.

“I know, just don’t need to be reminded what’s happening today as I had enough of that walking into the paddock just now, I’m going to see Kimi so see you guys later” Y/n added as she left.

“Media never lets the kid breathe without comparing her to her brothers and why she’s not apart of the Ferrari junior team,” Toto said watching Y/n walk away.

“Well, she’s in great hands with us. Tell Lewis to keep an eye on her, he knows how to talk sense in her when she bottles up her feelings” Susie added.

“Y/n! There you are, where have you been?” Pascale asked her daughter who just entered the Ferrari garage.

“Just in Mercedes, sorry maman” Y/n mumbled as she stood by her mother.

“Toto and Susie told you that you didn’t need to be in there today due to this special moment between your brothers today” Pascale added.

“I know, sorry” Y/n replied quietly.

“Hey kiddo!” Carlos said as he messed up her hair making her slap him lightly.

“Hi Carlo! Do I need to remind you again not to touch my hair?” Y/n replied as she glared at him.

“Oh leave her alone,” Rebecca said as she appeared from behind Carlos.

“This is why I like her more than you!” Y/n teased as she hugged Rebecca.

“Love you too kiddo” Carlos mumbled.

A few moments later, Y/n watched as Charles and Arthur soon got into their cars and made their way out onto the track, she smiled proudly at them so ensure her mother and everyone she was happy but deep down she was feeling the opposite.

Y/n had managed to slip out of the Ferrari garage just before FP1 was finished. She quickly went back over to the Mercedes garage, before she was caught.

“Hey kid, you okay?” Lewis asked.

“Oh, hey Lew! I’m good!” Y/n replied.

“Why aren’t you in Ferrari? Family must be proud watching Charles and Arthur today, special moment for you all” Lewis added.

“Yeah, very proud of them” Y/n mumbled as she looked up to the TV screens that were showing Charles and Arthur with the whole family hugging.

“Shouldn’t you be with them?” Lewis asked.

“Rather stay out of the way, a moment for them to enjoy with the family” Y/n added.

“Y/n, c’mon kid you don’t need to pretend with me. Toto told me as he can read you like a book, I know you are feeling left out and you think there’s more pressure on you due to what the fans were saying when you walked in today” Lewis told her softly, as she look away.

“It’s not just confusing, I love them and very proud of them. But no one really takes notice of me, I feel left out and just adds more pressure to me as I’m their little sister and should be good at racing like them..” Y/n mumbled.

“Don’t even realise I’m gone..” Y/n whispered looking back to the TV screens that are showing what’s happening in the Ferrari garage.

“Hey, c’mon you’re still their little sister and you mean everything to your family. You are creating your own name for yourself in racing, you joined Mercedes which is a different route to both your brothers. I know how bad the media can be, you can’t let them bring you down as you are doing amazing in F2 right now” Lewis told her.

“Why are you so good at talking, I just want to be sad but you’re making it hard!” Y/n joked with a smile on her face.

“What can I say? C’mon, let’s go the hospitality as it will be comfortable and we can talk more” Lewis added as the youngest Leclerc nodded.

Lewis and Y/n has been in the hospitality for 30 minutes when Toto and Susie joined them, the five of them had been there for some time and Y/n kept getting messages from her mother..

Y/n, a young talent, record breaker, the youngest on the grid and the paddock princess. However, despite how much the grid loves and cares for her, they don’t know a single thing about her.

The young mercedes driver was entering the paddock, smiling and waving at the cameras before making her way over to fans to sign things and take photos before she made her way into the garage.

“The fans know more about her than us,” Lando mumbled as he had watched her interaction with the fans.

“Y/n has always been like this especially in formula 2, she would only talk on the radio and interviews” Oscar added.

“She’s just shy, don’t like talking and prefer to be alone. I learnt that the hard way when she became my teammate” George said.

“I just wish she would open up to us, it’s like her whole life is a mystery to us” Charles added.

Later, a few of the drivers had gathered in the lounge before the start of a busy weekend. During these times, Y/n is normally on her own with her headphones with a book in hand or on her phone.

This time around, she had her knees up with her book on her lap with headphones on with no care in the whole and having no intentions of joining any conversations or banter amongst the drivers.

However, her plan didn’t stay very long as she felt her headphones being taken off her head which made her look up at the certain aussie driver.

“Danny!” Y/n exclaimed as she got up and tried to get her headphones back, only for Daniel to lift them in the air, Y/n soon realised there was no point in trying.

“C’mon, you were being anti-social!” Daniel said.

“How do you even like reading?” Lando added which earned him a glare from the young driver.

“I mean he has a point, how do you find it entertaining?” Max asked.

“This shows you lot barely finished school or dropped out” Y/n told them.

“We just want to talk to you! We know nothing about your life!” Charles added.

“There’s nothing too exciting that happened, just a normal childhood!” Y/n said before she got ahold of her headphones and went back to the same position before the drivers interrupted her.

“One day, we will get something out of her” Pierre said.

The morning passed, Y/n was just talking to her engineers as FP1 had just finished and were gathering information in preparation for FP2.

Y/n knew that F2 was going on this weekend, she was hoping to be able to see some of her closest friends and her wishes were fulfilled when she looked outside her garage.

She saw Ollie, Kimi and Paul chatting outside, this made her face light up with a smile, which was rare for her and she knew her team were watching her, but she didn’t care.

"Guys!!" she called out, jogging over to them.

"Y/n!" Kimi opened his arms as the young girl launched into a hug. The pair laughed as they pulled apart, before Y/n hugged Ollie and Paul.

The four started talking continuously about anything and everything and laughing, which caught the attention of the grid.

“It’s like she’s two different people,” Lando said as he nudged Oscar pointing over to the scene.

“That’s Y/n for you” Oscar replied.

“Y/n!” Daniel called as he made his way over to where she was sitting down on a table outside the mercedes hospitality. Soon enough, Daniel wasn’t the only drivers who joined her.

“What’s this? A gathering?” Y/n asked.

“You with Ollie, Kimi & Paul?!” Charles said.

“What about it? We are best friends, we are all practically family” Y/n replied confused.

“So they know everything about you?!” Pierre added.

“Well, duh!” Y/n told them.

“You are like a completely different person when you’re with them compared to us!” Max added.

“Didn’t realise that there was a drivers meeting outside the Mercedes hospitality” Kimi joked as he walked over with Ollie and Paul.

“They are saying I’m different person with you lot compared to them” Y/n mumbled.

“Well, they ain’t wrong!” Paul said.

“I’m going to tell your mum you still haven’t opened up to anyone but us,” Kimi joked.

“Don’t blame me if you don’t get invited over to our annual barbecue!” Y/n replied.

“Your parents love me too much to not invite me over, I’m their favourite!” Kimi added.

“We will be stealing Y/n until FP2! See you all later!” Ollie told them as him and Paul became a barrier between Y/n and Kimi.

“What the f*ck just happened?” Lando said.

“That’s one way of putting it..” Daniel replied.

“Maybe we should of just accepted it at the beginning..” Charles mumbled.

Throughout the rest of the day and weekend, the drivers stared down the 3 young drivers who made Y/n smile and laugh continuously.

And from that day on, the grid accepted that they were never going to find out anything about Y/n. Despite it all, they still continue to try and get stuff out of her, which leads to nothing.

They were really jealous of Ollie, Kimi and Paul.

However, they learnt the hard way that jealously doesn’t look good on them..

y/n.verstappen: Danny, you’ve known me ever since I was a little kid, you were there at my first race in F4/F3/F2, when I won my F2 championship, when I got a seat in formula 1, my first points, my first win and many more moments.

What is the best one of all? When we became teammates, I don’t think I have had that much fun, laughed so much, loved the battles we had on track, the shoey you made me do after my first win and just the overall joy of being your teammate. I can’t thank you enough for everything you have done for me and everything you helped me through.

You always brought a big smile, laughs and positivity to everyone. Formula 1 is going to be weird without you here, you’ll be missed by everyone (especially me). I love you like an older brother, keep your head up, you know I’ll always be here for you, until next time❤️
