               another  step,    then  another   &   despite  the  very  real  danger,    the warning,   the  possibility  that  this  could  be  chewie’s  own  end,   he’s  a  flurry  of  fur    ---    arms  wrapping  impossibly  tight  around  the  other.   to  his  credit,   precautionary  paw  even  clasps  the  knight’s  wrist,  as  if  that  could  truly  stop  him  when  there’s  no  real  weight  behind  his  grip.  (   it’s  tender,   for  a  wookiee  capable  of  so  much  strength  )   the  crackling  of  the  saber  sets  his  hair  on  end,  but  for  as  much  as  he’s  been  called  a  coward,  he  makes  no  motion  to  run.

               chewbacca’s  head  sets  atop  his  own,   blue  eyes  closing  with  a  low  hum.   “   i’m  sorry  you  felt  this  was  your  only  option,   i’m  sorry  i  wasn’t  there.   “    i  won’t  leave  again,   stubborn  as  the  rest,   he  truly  fit  the  solo  family   ---   reckless  for  those  he  loves   &   prepared  to  die  for  them.    “      come   with   me,    please.     “
