I miss you more than anything. There’s nothing I wouldn’t give to have you know I think about you every day. Everything reminds me of your smile. Your laugh. Your touch. The way you move. The way you talk.  When is this supposed to get easy? When are you supposed to realize that you did what was best? When are you supposed to accept that realization?  Here I am, Almost 2 years later. Reliving my same mistakes over and over again. Hell isn’t a place. Hell is a state of mind.

This is the chemical formula for love: C8H11NO2+C10H12N2O+C43H66N12O12S2 dopamine, seratonin, oxytocin. It can be easily manufactured in a lab, but overdosing on any of them can cause schizophrenia, extreme paranoia, and insanity. Let that sink in.

Ok. Um. I’m sorry to be a dick but that’s not accurate.
Even though serotonin may be related to mood, and oxytocin might be related to attachment, and dopamine may be related to productivity, that does not mean these neurotransmitters have any intrinsic effect. You can’t just mix them all together, drink them down, and call that love.
Each one of those chemicals has many different effects on the brain, depending on which part of the brain they’re in. Neurotransmitters are like keys. They fit into particular locks – receptors in the brain – and thereby encourage the neurons connected to those receptors to engage in activity.
There is nothing inherently happy- or attached- or sad-making about any neurotransmitter. Dopamine, for example, can open many “happy” locks in the brain, but it can also activate receptors that encourage behavioral inhibition and fine motor skills. This is why a dopamine deficiency is related to Parkinson’s symptoms, and why Parkinson’s disease can cause both motor skill problems and depression.
Think of dopamine as a key that can open every door on the second floor of an office, including the closets, bathrooms, storage rooms, and meeting rooms. Just because the same key works for all those rooms doesn’t mean those rooms are related in any other way. Just because you’ve opened the closet door does not mean you’ve also opened the door to the board room or the bathroom. In order for the key to have an effect, it must be placed in the appropriate lock.
Playing a rewarding video game or checking off your to-do list can flood your brain with dopamine, but only in certain areas, only having certain effects. You can stimulate the reward centers of the brain all you like; your behavioral inhibition and motor skill “doors” won’t necessarily be unlocked in the process.
There is no such thing as overdosing on a neurotransmitter. Sometimes the body overproduces these neurotransmitters, in cases of stress and mental illness…love is not one of the reasons for that. And just because a neurotransmitter is associated with two type of receptors or two types of brain activities does not mean those activities are the same thing or are related psychologically.
Schizophrenia, paranoia, and “insanity” ares not caused by an excess of serotonin or dopamine or anything else. Neurotransimitters themselves don’t cause any of those mental illnesses. You must have either a structural or genetic predisposition to the disorder to get it.

It pains me to know how you're not doing any better than I am. In spite of all this, I just wish you could finally be ok.
