Tried to do a spot clean today, gave him a bit of strawberry but he still isnt into me petting him. He was less than thrilled when i had to pick him up to put in the travel case. Got to clean his wheel but i couldnt find much soiled bedding and once i openeed the case he hopped right out. Gave him more strawberry as a peace maker. Ill try to take it slower in the next few days.

My First Hamster!!
Despite the awful snow storm today, after a year of wanting to, I finally got my first hamster!! A male tricolor syrian!
He had a bit of trouble getting into the cage from the traveling case but once he got in he warmed up quickly to the burrow chambers I got and I snapped this right before giving him food and water before leaving him alone.
I didn’t know not interacting with him would be so hard; he woke up and started making noises and once i leaned over to check on him we made intense eye contact
