Soup is getting traded as soon as they find her a home (NYC a likely candidate but this league is wild so who knows where she’ll actually end up) for a non goalie and Chuli/Kirk are the A/B combo. Hoping CJ gets five games this year (if they re-sign with Toronto, there a free agent too) with the rest evenly split with Chuli Kirk. Chuli is a bit older but they’re both pretty reliable and it positions Kirk to be a solid #1 if Chuli retires or doesn’t re-sign next year.

Peslarova is leaving the league so she might not have made herself available to sign with anyone. She’s a darling when it comes to the orange memes but I’m not sure any team was convinced she was #1 material yet, thus no signing in the expansion draft periods? Maybe post 2026 Olympics she’ll come back and rock everyone’s world.

These people would rather sign Chuli than Peslarová? Sigh

right now New York is probably banging their head against the wall to try and sign a New York player, Fillier, as they have her rights but no contract for her and I'll bet she wants (justifiably) to be paid VERY WELL — and the funniest thing (for me, a Sceptres fan) would be for them to have to trade her player rights to another team after protecting her in the draft because they can't agree on a number. Soupy and another player for Fillier, my Sceptres?

Forget Streaming, Return to Winamp

I hear some of you are getting a little tired of the streaming service gauntlet! Did you know you can play mp3s with Winamp 5.6x, a very old program that plays songs perfectly fine from your PC, where your songs should be? (Newer versions add bullshit, you can decide whether you want that, but you don't.)

Did you know I made several really fucking good Utena Winamp skins? That aren't even on the website anymore because I broke the Multimedia section trying to make it easier to update in 2009? They might even be older than you, dear reader. I show my work hunting through my own website for shit I just forgot was there in a thread on Something Eternal, but if you just want the sauce:

Pictured in the order I made them, the first four are AT LEAST as old as April 2002. The last three were made in 2006 and 2007. All of them are in this 2mb ZIP, a comically small file for content I spent a small fortune hosting back when 2mb was a fucking massive amount of data, lmaaaao.

Chiuli would be a free agent signing and Soup would be a trade elsewhere in the league for a non-goalie but as much as i love yelling SOOOOUUUP at the games I’d not be too sad if we went with Kirk #1 or a tandem scenario with her and literally any goalie (including Soup). Campbell is the most unreliable #1 in the league, oscillating wildly between easily the best in the world and barely an undressed number 3.

and then you look at some of the bonafide superstars like Knight and Carpenter and think "yeah but look at these goats both on Seattle now" and it's like well, neither of their teams even made the playoffs. Schroeder owns in net but also didn't make the playoffs twice in a row. And look at Pou and Stacey on the same line even and yeah they dominated but even Montreal had a quick exit twice in a row as their second and third lines might as well have not existed. Stars don't equal wins.

And as sad as I am to lose The Goose in Toronto, she still has no idea how to play like someone who is half a foot bigger than everyone else in the league, and Nurse underperformed big time even before her injury. Toronto protected the only two stars we had and we kept out captain and our resident goblin so nothing's really changed in terms of identity. Hope Miller gets offered worthwhile numbers to stay, start playing Soupy and Kirk in a rotation with CJ getting 3-4 games this year, and see who we can pick up in the draft.

And pardon me but I'm imagining a world where Vanisova signs with Toronto, or maybe the sirens don't offer Filly big enough numbers and have to trade her playing rights. The chaos ain't done yet!

I guess sort of the last point I want to make about the expansion draft is that, as much as it feels like the new teams are advantaged because they took a lot of big names, they’re heavily relying on players who were injured (Bilka, Boreen, Nurse, Maschmeyer) or underperformed (Daniel, Gosling, Serdachny) to return to form. Which is not a guarantee by any stretch.

give me one more month. The colouring will have needed 4 plus one bonus sessions, not 2 sessions on account of the massive amount of detail (each sessions has been about 10 hours of non-stop inking each). On the upside it looks sick as hell and it's making me way more into the idea of having a body. Saurin was interviewed for the Nix Tattoo Show while they (they/them, interviewer misgendered them) were working on the third session with me, here's an instagram link
