I hadn't really thought much about Garret in the AU, but a few days ago I wondered if the Leaguers worked at the planetarium.

Perhaps some veterans looked at the stars giving them a bit of comfort. Upon returning to Earth, some opted for something more peaceful and related to space.

Maybe Garret did that. During his journey he was able to calmly observe the stars and planets, something that really captivated him and he wanted to share it.
