Itokazu Castle was built on a limestone hill and it seems like parts of their walls were of natural large rocks. Also, the main gate has really regular rocks, which suggests that at then Ryukyuans had started making arched doorways. (Why Nakijin Castle no arched doorways though??) This is modelled after gates in Shuri Castle. I really love this painting!! 💟💟💟 #okinawa #nanjo #ryukyu #stonewalls #gusuku #沖縄 #南城 #琉球 #グスク #城 #石垣 (Itokazu Castle ruins)

天王寺 (Tennoji) of #Okinawa One of the 3 Ryukyuan Royal Family Temples. There used to be a lotus pond opposite named #蓮小堀, read as #リングムイ (#Ringumui). The pond was landfilled with the debris from the nearby Engakuji after it was damaged in the war in 1945. After which, it was said that wells around Shuri all overflowed. #沖縄 #水彩 #水彩画 #寺 #琉球 #蓮 (那覇市 首里)
