Been a hot minute since I did one of these so thought it might be a good time to give an updated lineup of the idiots.

On the left we have @amorthonblackwood (art by @nipuni ) - awkward turtle previously disguised as a ranger, Amorthon is spending most of his time these days at home with Nyllae and their daughter Razilee (who is keeping them both fairly busy). Still, you might be able to find him and his tigers, Cibor and Savage, around from time to time.

On the right is @raxwel-blythe (art by @art-zoratrix) - resident perceptive smartass, part investigator, part information broker, and a whole lot of sass. Raxwel has been keeping to himself and a handful of friends recently, but can still occasionally be found in Stormwind.

(I haven't been IN game much to RP recently - but both of these boys are open to new interactions either via Tumblr or Discord)

@osric-slater-ffxiv - Osric spent a majority of the last several years moving from mercenary company to mercenary company before joining the Ashen Wolves. When he's not actively seeing to business for the Wolves he can be found at his family home in Ishgard. Quiet and a bit broody - there's nothing he wouldn't do for those that are important to him, though recent years have taught him to keep that list very short.

@rzevi-tia-ffxiv - R'zevi is currently on hiatus as he's being revamped.

@ricard-blythe-ffxiv - Information broker with a devil-may-care attitude, Ricard enjoys playing the game. Always eager to learn more about what makes people tick - his curiosity is both a strength and a weakness. It's earned him a fair amount of gil, and caused him no shortage of headaches (and heartache) along the way.

DWC - August 2022 - Day 6 - Rot

He had heard the arguments, those who would defend the traditions of the tribes or try to tell him why things must remain the way they were. 

A load of chocobo shit, all of it. 

He’d tried…to give them the benefit of the doubt, to hope that maybe it was just the tribe he’d come from that was so extreme and that others would be different. 

Instead, the longer he was away the more he was convinced that the whole system should be left to rot. 

No one should be left feeling as though they were expendable, no child to have to watch their father be cut down in front of them and then be treated as worse than second rate. 

No tradition was worth that.

character relationships and giving your RP partner a chance.

It’s really sad when people think just because you see the potential for a romantic/sexual ship between your characters that it’s all you want from them. I only wanna write things we’re both interested in, I’m not interested in forcing anything on you. Just because I’d be happy to ship with you doesn’t mean if you’re not interested that I won’t still want to write with you? That’s just one idea, there are always so many other kinds of dynamics we could pursue between our muses. Romantic/sexual ships are not everything.

I never want you to be untrue to your character and their feelings for my ‘benefit’.

I will never be untrue to my character and their feelings for your ‘benefit’.

If you’re not comfortable with the plot, I don’t want to do the plot.

The exciting part of roleplaying is writing complex relationships with all of you! I’m interested in your character because of their feelings and opinions, not in spite of them. I love when characters disagree, I love unrequited feelings, I love when two characters loathe each other, I love to explore realistic relationships with individual flaws and strengths based off of our muses’ personalities and histories. I’m never expecting your muse to respond to mine in a specific way, I live to be surprised by other people’s characters, and I would hope my RP partners feel the same way about mine! That’s what collaborative writing is all about.

His siblings…well, his half-siblings…had always said it was doing him a disservice, being ‘kind’ and that they were actually ‘toughening’ him up by treating him the way that they did. The endless teasing, never a moment to himself, the harassment - all to ‘make him better’. A bigger load of chocobo shit he’d never heard.

In the years after he left, he made a promise to himself - to be kind to those he came across…because he never wanted anyone to feel the way he had as a child.

No one deserved that.

🌱 SEEDLING - what is their most vivid memory from childhood?

R'zevi exhaled sharply, his ears flatting against his head. "It's...not a good one, but probably the day I got this scar...over my right eye. I'm lucky I didn't lose the eye, honestly."

He rubbed his hands together for a moment before leaning back in his chair. "I got a lot of grief growing up - mostly for my eye color. It...um...well, it stood out. I wonder sometimes if even a different shade of blue would have gotten less attention, but - to answer the question...it was shortly after my father, um...lost his position. I was out with some of the other kids and a few older kids decided that I was their target for the day. Not unusual, and I dealt with it the way I usually did...by ignoring it and finding a quiet place to wait it out. Except the quiet place I picked was up a tree because I didn't think any of them were athletic enough to get to me. And really they weren't - but they didn't have to get to me to put enough weight on an already brittle branch. The branch broke, I went down with it and caught the sharp end of one of the other broken branches as I fell down this hill...cliff, don't know what you'd call it. Next thing I remember was being carried back to camp - it was dark at that point - and then the bandage they wrapped over the eye. It itched like hell...and the bandage only led to more teasing." He gave a small shrug.

"I don't think about that day often - I barely even notice the scar anymore - but it's one of the more clear memories I have. I try to block most of it out, really."
