I can only do so much at my computer and in my head... In doing a project like this you really need to be in the space editing live in my opinion - to really capture the essence of what you want to make. I can only do so much with a video replay, being at the capitol editing is so different. hahaha in an ideal world I'd have my desktop set up at the top of the stairs at the capitol editing my project while its being live fed into the system. If I were to do a project like this again - whatever it maybe -- a large scale immersive project -- I'd want to be on site a lot of the time...
Learning Pharos has been super fun, it feels like editing videos and editing music to me... it's the same mentality. I want to do more projects like this in the future!!!
I'm in a music collective - I think it would be really cool to do a performance and program the lights to each song --- i think it's very possible....
This week was really good, I sat down at the computer in the capital theatre and really manipulated the colours. It's crazy how slight variations change the feel of it. I wanted the colours to have the same scheme but with less intensity. I spent about 45min adjusting the colours; it is so helpful to be in the space to adjust the colours.
Not much research. Though I have been thinking about movie scenes that put me in a state of Awe & wonder, particularly the world building in many kids movies. I watched Elemental on the weekend, I didn't like the storyline at all hahaha but the world building was very cool, personifying the elements in fun ways. What does water & fire movement look like personified - this movie would have been fun to be on the creative team for...
All I've been thinking about is "how can I make this other worldly" and "how can I make this as possible" I think I can do it, I've had some time off a bit so I can get back into it very fresh again
I'm putting together the piece, it is getting more and more finalised. here is a movement of shooting stars I made last week that I want to implement when you hit the climax
I want to implement some of the new movement I've created into the piece, as well as just touching up colours a bit and creating slight variants of my current piece
Exploring movement
In this I was experimenting with trying to create what 'growth' looks like. I imagined a sped up version of vines growing across the ceiling.
have just been observing how things move, as I mentioned in my presentation things like : birds, embers, sunrises, sunsets etc. trying to recreate that kind of movement.
Someone in class did a pattern that used the roof as an arch, it looked like objects flying overhead - it was really nice. I want to implement that somehow in my own way, v inspiring
I've tested colour schemes live in the capitol theatre after my presentation, some colours worked, some didn't... The greens were nice but I still feel as though they don't mesh as well... What I will do is stick to the pinks, creams, yellows, oranges, but play around with the colour values. I made some new pallets in the capitol - but I think I left my USB there hahaha
I took a break from doing stuff on the computer, my brain can't program at this point, I want to chill for a bit, take the weekend off, relax & recharge
This week I just came up with different natural environments that can inspire movement. I just thought of anything, birds flying, sunsets, crystals shining, falling stars, hugs, collision
Creating colour pallets, i'm trying to just whip out a bunch of pallets that I think, that would be different to the blue sections at the start. The green reminds me of emeralds. I want to maybe introduce red, though I like the heavy use of red at the end as you haven't seen it yet, but maybe subtle red would be nice
i used the website coolors to also generate colour schemes

it's now a matter of tweaking, I will save the project I have now, and experiment with new ideas. Quite happy with what I have currently though... I want to try and see what golds and silvers look like...
