HELP FOR SONIC ARTISTS

I’m a piece of shit but I wanted to make this post in case there are more people out there who had the same problem as me. For those who needed a REAL reference of Sonic characters in order to learn how to draw them from different angles and know their anatomy well. I came across Sketchfab, here people upload 3D models online (some FanArt, other originals extracted from the games, one realizes when they see them or just read the description), including models of old games like Sonic R. And of course, not only Sonic, you can find 3D models of animals, monsters, people, armors, weapons, vehicles etc, so I think it is very useful for any artists!

Anyway, I leave the links to models that I personally liked the most.

You were half asleep and groggy, spooning soggy cereal into your mouth when he brightly announced where you two (Yes, BOTH of you.) would be doing later that day. You weren't exactly given much of a choice when it came to "weekend hangouts."

Entering the dimly lit space that had neon lights and gaming sounds already burning into your skull, you realised it was too late to back out. Well... better than being crammed between the study notes on your desk, what's the worst that could happen?

His hand was already clamped around yours as he flashed you that signature grin, dragging you in further.

His competitive spirit immediately kicks in as he tugs you towards two player shooting games and various other machines he can show off at. Wiped the floor with you on DDR (he's too fast to keep up with 💔) and smugly batted his lashes at you, waiting for his, "Wow! you're so good at this, Sonic." (He didn't get it. You walked off as he scrambled behind with an armful of prize tickets.)

If he sees you look at a machine prize too long, he drops everything, sliding in as he says he'll get it for you. And he won't leave until he does. You leave with a lot of plushies you did NOT come in with. He'll also use it to get a one up on people. After thoroughly glaring at the guy you talked a little too long to, he'll hand you a cheap, overproduced plush that "he got first try" as if that will prove his superiority.

He absolutely expects praise, turning to you expectantly after winning a game first try or handing you something he spent way too many tickets on.

He's actually pretty fun to hang with- hard to keep up with? Absolutely. But with his arm slung around you and grin constantly pressing against your face? You'll give in eventually. He gets real pouty and clingy if he sees you're distracted on your phone or have your attention elsewhere. You gotta loosen up! And most importantly, hop into the VR booth with him.

If you thank him for food or the shiny thing he got from the ticket counter and actually look at the plush he handed you fondly? You make his night.

He will expect you to sleep with the plushies he won you. Or, at the very least, display them in plain sight. (If you don't, he does it for you.)

You wake up to your face smooshed against something soft that vaguely smells like popcorn and his letterman's jacket still around you.

Hey, I love your platonic yandere roommate Sonic. Since he wants his roommate to go to his matches so bad, I was wondering how he would react if they couldn’t handle the noise or crowd of the matches. If you feel up for it, could you write something like that?

The cheering, the people scuttling around on the bleacher, the yells and general chaos from the crowd alone? Yeah, no thanks.

It was the first time Sonic had practically begged and pleaded, dragging you to one of his matches. He was practically radiating when he "finally got you to stop being cooped up in your room."

There truly was no ill intent behind the grip around your wrist and grin he flashed you. He just wanted you to socialise a little (not too much tho) and totally get blown away by how he sweeps the field.

You'd barely sat down for a few minutes before you just couldn't take it anymore.

His grin faltered when he saw your spot on the bleachers empty. Oh-

He found you after the game and felt like a bit of a douchebag as his pout deepened and his arms clung to you, his cheek on your head. Once he fully realises the situation and that it might not just be a confidence problem he could hype you out of... he softens.

He was bummed, sure..he’d have liked to hear you cheer his awesome self on and shoot off towards you as soon as a match finished, but he could work with that.

And hell, as he began planning more activities with just you two in the dorm, it was actually working out in his favor. Drawling on about how this was so much better than going to the movies with other people as he pulled you closer into his side on movie nights.

Getting back from matches, and since you weren't there, using it as an excuse to talk your ear off about what happened- how he went woosh! and wham! and easily won the race!

He would start steering you away from crowded places and loud people (even if he is one) outside of matches as well. Like "Yeah, no, they'll pass," as he tugs you away from a crowd of club recruiters.

Overall, he would be pretty bummed put, but figure out a way to make it work or use it to his advantage.

Imagine if you're, like, especially hellbent on doing good. Cue countless sleepless nights at your desk while you run off of 7 energy drinks, a prayer and a bag of stale chips you found in your drawer.

Sonic is well... concerned. You haven't been eating on time, and he had to force you to drink water last time. Safe to say he's not pleased.

If you're having troubles with deadlines and procrastinating, he's doing his best to try 'n' help out (he also doesn't understand shit and has Tails on speed dial).

He would leave snacks on your desk and periodically remind you to take breaks (after physically dragging you away from your desk doesn't work). And he isn't exactly above charming your professors into handing out extensions- or hell- maybe even some more... underhanded tactics if it comes down to it (Knuckles is rolling his eyes as he helps him climb through an office window and mess with document placement in the middle of the night).

After a few times of physically dragging you to bed, carrying you when you fall asleep at your desk, and quietly tailing you on your late night library runs (he's just tryna keep you safe!), he's almost equally as tired... almost (except he's Sonic).

And you bet the moment exam season is over, he's pushing you to bed "to recover." You can't leave until he's deemed you well-rested enough- you're not escaping. He has an arm slung around you while he rambles on and on until you finally clock out.

He's definitely the popular jock of the school, star athlete with that signature grin. In the track club and hell- probably a few others just cuz. Always wearing that red varsity jacket like it's part of his brand, carrying that "too cool" attitude with him.

You're the new kid on campus, a bit nervous to be here and new to rooming with someone for so long. But he seems super chill at first, a bit hard to keep up with, sure... but at least he's charming? (There's a lotta chili dog wrappers laying around.)

He rushes most of the chores, why bother with the details when he can clean up his side of the room in seconds? The mess on the couch? Don't worryyy, he'll make it go poof after he gets back from practice!

All in all, he's not the WORST roommate. And he seems to have grown a liking to you, waking you up before he goes for his early morning jog so you're not late. (just snickering at your grumbles and giving your hair a rough tussle before bolting out the door). He even offers to carry you to class when you're running late! Truly a gentleman.

Surprisingly enough... he knows your class schedule pretty well. He's just looking out for you though! He doesn't think skipping chem class is worth hanging out with... that bunch. You only have what- one period left? Why don't you just stay with him and watch a movie? Just you two!

Admittedly, he can get a bit... protective? Not to mention oddly clingy at times. But he means well! You know he does... what's one more hangout before he has to go to practice? (You don’t get to answer before he already has his hand clamped around yours, bubbling with energy, dragging you towards whatever it is he wants to do.)

You’ll be there at his next match, won't you?? He needs your support to win! (Doesn't matter how many fangirls are already cheering for him or the fact he wipes the floor regardless.) It's only right. Don’tcha wanna be a good roomie..?
