In the Sanderlanche in Oathbringer there’s a brief moment when Renarin mentioned he felt like dancing, so to celebrate my 1k milestone on Tumblr I decided to let him dance with Rlain. :D

Thank you for being so patient and kind with me and my art. Whether it’s now or 5 years ago, I’ve always loved reading the tags and comments people leave under my posts. Although I make art first and foremost for myself, the fact that people can find joy in the things I create makes me want to dance and spin around as well. Thanks for being here. 💜

Kaladin’s frustration with the members of Bridge 4 in WoK really hits differently when you focus on the fact that he was inadvertently doping the whole time. Like not only could he run farther and faster and deflect arrows, but he was warmer in their crappy barracks and had better muscle recovery. He must have been incredibly annoying to all of the non-enhanced humans.

You should try reading the books you want to read, and see what happens.

Mistborn Era 1 is a beautiful introduction to a lot of the foundational lore of the Cosmere books, but that lore is echoed over and over in the other series, most of which are intended to be readable as standalones. I will always recommend finishing Era 1 as a first start into Cosmere, but I also believe that there's literally so much Book out there that if you read all the series you'll eventually get all the answers you need.

As for Era 2, it stands alone well from Era 1 in terms of plotline, character etc. However, the metallic arts are expanded upon throughout Era 1, which is critical context for some of the story beats in Era 2. If you're willing to take everything that happens in Era 2 at face value, this can probably work out for you, but if Era 2 feels especially choppy and as if deus-ex-machina magical abilities are appearing out of nowhere, it's because you're missing a fair bit from Era 1.

Reading order question:

So the subreddit kinda ignored me when I asked this, so I wanted to leave it here. I finishedThe Final Empire, but I’m DNFing Era 1. I really liked the world and cast, but I honestly just hated Elend. I’m happy to read the series as long as he isn’t there. So I do really want to read Era 1 and Secret history.

Basically, is it easy to just skip over Well of Ascension and Hero of Ages? Obviously there’s stuff to miss, but I’m hoping I could kinda glean stuff from context clues. That, or if there are any good recap videos I could watch one of those. Whatever is a better experience. Or, is there something else?

Is there a stormlight archive or cosmere big bang/similar event?

I find it odd they never talk about snapping in Era 2 of Mistborn. It was such a fascinating and unique part of the world and with the “high society” thing Era 2 has going on, I’d assume it would be very interesting to see how the world handled it.

If it shows up in some manner in Lost Metal, everyone just ominously cackle in the replies. But if it goes unmentioned, send me a WoB where he talks about it or something!
