I would like you howling commandos headcanons please so I may add to my list.

My headcannon is that the Denouements Brothers all smell different as thier only way of individualism.

Dewey smells like a freshly opened book and patchouli.

Ernest smells like tobacco, bergamot, and burning wood, but more like in a campfire sense.

Frank smells like Sandlewood, lemon, and bay Rum.

As for Cologne, frank wears Doir eau sauvage Ernest wears pino Silvestre, and dewey wears Acqua di Parma Colonia.

If the denouements weren't every in vfd or around it I think that Frank would either be a E.M.T or an actual firefighter. Ernest would be an mechanic/engineer or in the military. Dewey would own a bookstore or be the local librarian.

I have two ideas for both sides of this.

On one hand if they do know. it does makes sense that they are still working together in the hotel. Despite them being on two different sies of the schism.

But my heart hurts for the side where they don't know. It shows me that the only reason that they still work together is because the both of them didn't want to get separated after deweys "death".

Do frank and Ernest know that Dewey exists?

I honestly feel like people think that (and this is from the very few and far between fanfic's about them that i've read) that Frank and Ernest never got along. And i for one think this is completely untrue.

Now here me out here

Now imagine a little Frank following Ernest around wanting to be just like him, and their parents finding this to be adorable kept dressin them alike. And Frank wanting to be like his older brother so much down to even asking for the same toys and things for Hanukkah ad their birthday.

Imagine Ernest originally trying to set a good example for Frank because he looks up to him. An then the fire that destroyed their house when they were four happened and Ernest just wants to be alone and Frank won't let that go on and kept bothering him and Ernest snaps at him.

Think about dewey having to step up and talk to them separately to get them to speak to each other again. and after that Ernest and Frank were as thick as thieves again. And as they protected their older brother from bullys.

Then Ernest slowly start so shift to the firestarting side. Small changes in morals and how to go about things. After all of that starts going on more and more fights between Frank and Ernest kept happening between them, and them not talking to eachother for weeks on end the longest being a month and half. It was to the point dewey couldn't even get them to talk or be in the same room together.

After they are all out of school and are running the hotel together. Ernest joins the Firestarters and Frank and dewey find out and get into a big fight where Frank denounces him as a brother causing the fight to explode out of proportion, making dewey sulk back into the sub library and Ernest avoiding Frank.

Years later dewey tricks them into the same room and tells them that vfd wants him to "make himself disappear and he needed both of their help to do so, and for the first time in year Frank and Ernest agreed and worked together to help protect their brother one last time.

I have a headcanon that when the denouement brothers went to school at prufrock that dewey used to get bullied by upperclassmen and they would literally (a word which here means to in a literal manner or sense) shove him into lockers.

And one day they were trying to pick on him but mistook Ernest for dewey and they had tried to push him around and got their lights knocked out.

And after that dewey didn't understand until years later after he erased himself that it was Ernest that had done that, and he finally realized why those same bullies looked scared of him especially when Ernest threw an arm over his shoulder while walking passed them.

It was at that point that made dewey miss what his brother once was. Still fighting fires and not starting them.
