Subway - Good Food at an Affordable Price
If you are looking for a value priced meal that is healthy and delicious, the submarine sandwich restaurant Subway may just have what you want. Subway is an international fast food chain that has 32,600 plus restaurants in 91 countries! Yes, I know that the term "fast food" connotes poor quality foods saturated with fats. But with Subway, you are not going to get any of that. Instead, you can get a healthy sandwich with fresh deli meats like turkey and ham and stuffed full of vegetables.
Each sandwich is made fresh on the go. When you go into the restaurant, you are usually greeted by a friendly staff member who say "Welcome to Subway!" from behind the counter. You stand in line at the counter and when it's your turn, you get to pick a sandwich and then customize it according to your taste buds.
The subs menu come with a variety of choices like Tuna, Meatball, Spicy Italian, BLT, Cold Cut Combo, Roast Beef and more. What really steals the show is that you can make choices and customize the sandwich (like bread, cheese, vegetables) to your personal taste buds. Here are some of the choices that you have:
Bread
Fresh mouthwatering bread baked delicious everyday on store premises. It's not just wheat and white. You can choose gourmet varieties like Italian Herb and Cheese, Honey Oat, Flat Bread, Monterey Cheddar, Roasted Garlic and more. They have recently added a 9 grain bread which although sounding healthy, contains high fructose corn syrup. I will be staying away from that particular one for a while. You can always check the ingredients that are used on their website.
Meats and Cheese
The meats include chicken breasts, oven roasted chicken strips, turkey, roast beef, pepperoni, bacon, ham and seafood. Types of cheese include American, Provolone, Cheddar, Swiss, Pepperjack and more. When ordering your submarine sandwich, you can pick the type of cheese that you like. You can also add bacon and pepperoni to any sub.
It's not just that the food is good and healthy, along with that comes a very attractive and low price. Currently in the first quarter of 2010, they have a menu that offers $5 foot long subs. The Signature and Premium subs cost a dollar or two more, but it's only $5 for a basic sub like a yummy ham and cheese sub. That's a bargain!
