Elk, commonly known as wapiti, is one of the largest deer species in the Cervidae family and one of the largest terrestrial mammals in North America, Central Asia, and East Asia.

We offer to you the elk, which is well-known among the creatures of Parc Omega! It's a mammal distinguished by adult males' massive ornamentation and the dark red-brown hue of its head, neck, and chest, with the rest of the body being clearer. He is an excellent swimmer and runner (with a top speed of 50 km/h). He has a twenty-year life expectancy on average.

In the park, he approaches automobiles freely in search of carrots. This deer is the epitome of the great American deer. Elk is a herbivorous mammal in the deer family that is known as Elk among English speakers in North America.

Elk were thought to be a subspecies of red deer (cervus elaphus) that ranged from Europe to Central Asia in North America. However, it has been known as Cervus canadensis since 2004. It is native to Montana and Wyoming, and after the moose, it is the world's second-largest cervid (1.40 m at the withers) (elk).

The rutting season lasts from mid-September through the end of October and is marked by the appearance of a lot of deer. Males become angry and dangerous as a result. Between late May and early June, females normally give birth to a single fawn.

"Safari"

The Swahili word safari means "journey", originally from the Arabic nounسفر (safar) meaning "journey", travel", "trip" or "tour"; the verb for "to travel" in Swahili is kusafiri. These words are used for any type of journey, e.g. by bus from Nairobi to Mombasa or by ferry from Dar es Salaam to Unguja. 'Safari' entered the English language at the end of the 1850s thanks to explorer Richard Francis Burton.

The Regimental March of the King's African Rifles was "Funga Safari", literally 'set out on a journey', or, in other words, pack up equipment ready for travel.

The park has been a popular tourist destination in Ontario for almost 50 years. African Lion Safari seeks to provide an entertaining and educational day "On Safari!" for all guests, as well as an opportunity to learn more about the animals in our care.
