The Ripple...

Chaotic rambling ahead, I'm just putting out my thoughts after the latest Watcher trailer.

Here's a transcript of the beginning text.

Consider: A droplet of rain pierces the still water. A ripple. A ring, ever expanding.

Consider: Movement along the circumference of a ring. From one eye a loop. From one eye a spiral. From one eye the motion of a line.

Consider then: A second drop. A thousandth. A multiplex of rings, spirals, interacting in countless ways. A froth. A seethe. An effervescence!

Reality is still water, unmoving, quiet. But with experience, a droplet, a ripple travels across it, never dissipating, ever growing. Now what happens if there are thousands of droplets, a downpour upon the waters surface: it loses form, and reality turns into a bubbling, frothing, wobbly mess. Countless ripples crossing paths, perception intersecting and joining together only to fall back and knot with another. Like a boiling pot of water, this is the nature of reality.

So then how is this reality perceived? It's a ring, the surface wobbling, but the perspective matters.

You can see it as a loop, it's edges moving.

Or, you can see it as a constantly turning spiral.

Or, if you were to view it from the side, it would appear as the motion of a line, like looking at the ocean with your eyes right at sea level.

This is what I think the cycle is, the constantly moving and rippling surface of perception, the endless struggle on an effervescent plane. If so, then maybe ascension is going below, deep beneath the surface where the downpour can't reach. A peaceful, still water.

I wonder what the first droplet could have been, maybe the beginning of life? Or maybe something greater...

god. its really frustrating the way internet virality works. everyone who sees success can only do so at the expense of others.

both shahed and shaima+mohammed (wafaa's siblings) were the initial targets of the recent wave of scam allegations, yet only shahed's gofundme was spread and received support as a result. maybe this is because and shaima and mohammed are slightly older, more traditional people who can't work the internet as well, maybe because they were less willing to share the intimate details of their pain online. maybe it's plain luck. either way its pretty shitty that only one person received the proper support after all that abuse, and that everyone else is being ignored.

since shahed reached her goal i want to redirect all of our righteous anger and empathy toward some of the other palestinians who were primarily targeted by this hate campaign. many of the campaigns on this list are stagnating in the amount of donations they recieve, despite the amount of attention they've received lately. of course, everyone here is vetted by either 90-ghost or el-shab-hussein:

shaima and mohammed @wafans-blog, who was accused of being a scam for having the same organizer as shahed, even though that is very common with gofundmes. [verification]

I am Ahmed Halas from the besieged North Gaza, I have created my campaign to help my family and save them from the suffering they are living. Our lives, hopes and ambitions have been destroyed, our livelihood has been destroyed, we have lost dear friends and many relatives, our house has been completely destroyed, we live in a plastic tent in the middle of an UNRWA school and we suffer from the heat of the sun which causes headaches, migraines, body allergies and many diseases. There is no food, water, medicine or basic life requirements and the prices are terribly high, we cannot afford to buy anything.

In the meantime, this fundraising campaign has been started so that people can donate so that we can regain momentum in case the unfortunate circumstances cannot be fixed.
