get it 6lack
6lack is set for 2017
Tumblr media
Biography
Dazed slow jams are the primary mode of Atlanta-based contemporary R&B/rap artist Ricardo Valentine, a singer-slash-MC who goes by the name 6LACK (“black”). Prior to connecting with LVRN (Love Renaissance), the creative agency that has supported fellow Georgia native Raury, Valentine was signed to a label that he felt restricted his creativity. After a few years of being held back, he made significant gains – across 2015 and 2016 – with contributions to the Spillage Village compilation Bears Like This Too, as well as singles such as “Bless Me” and “Loyal.” Once he was linked with Interscope, “Prblms” was officially released in September 2016 as his first major-label-affiliated track. The following month, it entered Billboard’s Twitter Emerging Artists chart at number five. That single set up the release of FREE 6LACK, his debut album, which arrived the following month.
His track ‘’ Ex-Calling’’ is a very tremendous masterpiece made on a ‘’metrobooming’’ tempo
About the debut album
“I could probably make 100 songs in my sleep,” brags Atlanta hip-hop artist 6lack (pronounced “black”) on “Never Know,” the opener to his LVRN/Interscope Records debut album Free 6lack. Settle down with the 11-track set and the claim may not be too far-fetched. 6lack’s brand of moody hip-hop not only champions the DIY model of hustling but spotlights vulnerability and honesty in a way the emoji generation can understand.
The songs play out like a journal, touching on relationships both personal and professional. In 2011, 6lack entered a shady record deal that kept him trapped for five years. He then slowly began to build with LoveRenaissance (LVRN), the ATL-based collective that includes signee Raury. In the midst of his label battle, he also grabbed inspiration for his deep cuts from exes.
“I wanted [the album] to serve as kind of a statement for everything, summarize the last five to six years of my life,” he tells Billboard. “I wanted to make a statement that I’m free from my older relationships and I’m free from all ways of thinking and my old feelings.”
Now, the 24-year-old born Ricardo Valentine – who laid down his first lyric in the studio when he was four years old – has taken advantage of his freedom to release an emotional gumbo that includes the previously released singles, the zero-f—s-given track “PRBLMS” and the #girlbye offering “Ex Calling.” He also beats his chest for songs like “Luving U” and takes a pro-love stance on “Gettin’ Old.” The finale of the feature-less project comes in the nine-minute track “Alone / EA6,” where 6lack firmly says he is sticking to his own formula and belief system, even if it means riding it out solo.

5 Rappers to watch for 2017
Green labelThe next big rap star will come from Portland. Or New Jersey. Or St. Louis, Philadelphia, Baton Rouge, or Boston. Without a record deal, a nebulous “co-sign,” or a publicist, a teenager in Miami can have a hundred-thousand loyal fans, eager to buy merch and support a “movement,” whatever that may entail.
The reasons for this are manifold: the record industry is decentralized and weak, rap has become more socially acceptable and accessible, and recording music (and videos) has never been cheaper. Rap’s twinned messages of struggle and uplift have pan-cultural appeal, and, as a result, rap is increasingly ethnically and geographically diverse.
Our list of 5 Rappers Who Are Going to Blow Up in 2017 reflects these changes. Aminé, raised in Portland, is the son of Ethiopian immigrants (he even raps in Amharic on his newest single); Anik Khan’s parents are Bengali asylum-seekers who settled in Astoria, Queens; BIA is a Bostonite of Puerto Rican and Italian heritage; Nav, the mysterious Torontonian, is thought to be South Asian. These aren’t token inclusions–these are just the new faces in a multi-cultural genre
Tumblr media
Aminé
Portland has verdant foliage, an extensive public transportation system, a temperate climate, and a history of embracing countercultural movements. The City of Roses is also overwhelmingly white. The list of influential bands from Portland is endless; the list of influential rappers from Portland is non-existent. Scratch that–it begins and ends with 22 year-old Aminé. Aminé’s ascent to stardom has been rapid–he’s only released two mixtapes, Odyssey to Me and Calling Brio, and has already disowned the first. His hit, “Caroline,” a paean to a curvy paramour, earned him a spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 (currently #12 and rising!), a guest appearance on The Tonight Show, and a contract with Republic Records
Tumblr media
Anik Khan
Anik Khan was born in Bangladesh to a poet father who, soon after Khan’s birth, was granted asylum in the United States; Khan was raised in public housing in Astoria, Queens. His music is an attempt to reconcile the music he’d hear in his neighborhood and the spoken-word kobita his father would perform at family gatherings. He raps with a New York accent, but his beat selection pays homage to the diversity of Queens–West African, Caribbean, Bengali, and beyond. Though he’s currently unsigned, Khan has found an ally in Ebro Darden, who premiered the rapper’s single “Renegade” on his Beats 1 radio show.
Tumblr media
Russ
Russ is vertically integrated. The New Jersey-bred, Atlanta-residing artist performs, writes, produces, mixes, and masters every song, a formula that’s earned him a massive–if largely unseen–following. Before creating a Soundcloud account, he’d already released 11 mixtapes. The streaming platform further increased his visibility–his uploads (usually annotated by “Prod. Russ”) regularly reach a million plays and the YouTube comments for his videos are crammed with admiration for his top knot. With a legion of dedicated fans, heterochromatic eyes, and a melodic voice, the crooner-rapper appears to be a star-in-the-making. A deal with Columbia Records will surely push him over the top.
Tumblr media
Smino
Smino’s from St. Louis, but his fledgling career began taking shape when he settled for the second time in the Windy City and met producer Monte Booker. Booker, a devout Timbaland fan, makes beats that pop and crunch; Smino, a devout Nelly fan, raps verses that contort and unfurl. On Smino’s most complete effort to-date, blkjptr (pronounced “black jupiter”), he and Booker combine for five-songs of pulsating, soulful rap. Though he signed with Interscope Records in August, Smino’s membership in collective Zero Fatigue is more meaningful–they’re his musical grounding, and the ethos by which he abides: no rest, no fatigue.
Tumblr media
PnB Rock
PnB Rock is easy to root for. Raised in Philadelphia’s Germantown (and nicknamed for an area intersection, Pastorius & Baynton), PnB Rock’s adolescence was marked by poverty, crime, and the murder of his uncle/father-figure. It was during a 33-month stint in a maximum-security prison that the “Selfish” singer, encouraged by a cellmate, discovered his knack for performing. Conveniently, the Philadelphian has already made a mixtape with his most famous correlative, Fetty Wap, the duo using their sine wave lilts to sing-rap about lucre and licentiousness.
A semi-recent Atlantic Records signee, PnB Rock is currently working on his debut album.

2017 is hot
5 upcoming Artists for 2017
2016 has been a big year for the music industry. We have seen a lot of Artists rise up from nowhere with some interesting vibes. Therefor, let’s not forget that the best is always to come. In fact, 2016 introduced us to many original artists that have been noticed by their lyrics, instrumentals, and flow. Most of them were hidden and unnoticeable because of a lack of promotion; but lucky them they’ve got our attention. Here is a list of the top 10 musical Artists to watch for 2017.
# 5 . Rchii
By releasing his first music video called ‘’She Bad’’ in 2014, Rchii demonstrate us what it means to be an independent Artist. First he recorded, mixed and mastered the song on a instrumental produced by the collaboration ’’O’brian & ScarecrowBeat’’, then he create and visual animation ‘’in 4 days’’ he said, to make the video more expressive. The video quality is quite impressive for a ‘’made by a noob’’. He also released in 2015, two home made tracks ‘’Light’’ and ‘’Coderec’’, on soundcloud which got many listeners attention. Finally, recently in 2016, he released his first album ‘’ Humanoid’’, followed by the single ‘’Uzi Uzi’’. In fact, The 24 years old artist has something we can call ‘’The salt’’ that separates him from the rest. His vocals variations from rapping to singing reminds us of Drake’s debut with a bit of quelque chose ‘’the salt’’.

# 4. Clairity
‘’DNA’’ single is the track that’ve got our attention on the 18 years old singer from suburban Tennessee. That moody 90′s type track Gave the Artist’s a cool nerdy attitude, after even being noticed by Pebe Sebert, who came across her demo back then in 2015. After that, Clairity kept improving and proving the music environnement that she certainly has her chance to become the future of pop music, by releasing her debut EP called Alienation.

# 3. Elohim
It is a matter of time before the mysterious masked Artist called Elohim blow as a Superstar. The intrigue that she represents in her music makes the listeners curious about her everyday. We’ve been particularly impressed by her single ‘’hallucinating’’ which has a Jazzy, melancholic and Joyful vibe. The track takes the listeners to a paradisiac, funky world. It is hard to ignore a such talent.

# 2. The Internet
The Internet is soon about to take over the internet; it is a matter of time. Most of the members of the group has started by ‘’Tyler the creator’’ side in odd future, before they gather as ‘’the internet’’. Syd tha kyd, the lead singer gives a juicy vocal to every songs she touches. We came across their track ‘’ get Away ‘’ and we’ve been Amazed by the beauty of the melody.
