" He does. This party is much more tasteful than I was expecting. Excluding the buff guys in nothing more than furs, of course, though I'm enjoying that too." He turned his head to the side and stood up just a bit so that he could press a kiss of his own to her cheek and then settled back against her, head on the other metal bender's shoulder.

" You know, it's nice being able to just relax for once." Saikhan commented, taking another pull from his champagne. " I could get used to this."

" Lin, have I told you how beautiful you are today? Because you are." Saikhan stepped up to where she was standing off to the side of the party, two glasses of champagne in hand. He held one out to her with a smile before leaning in to brush a kiss to her lips gently. "How are you doing?"

Lin couldn’t help the flush that touched her cheeks when he complimented her, or the grin that spread across her face as she leaned into the kiss, fingers closing around the champagne glass.

"Alright, considering." Considering she was at a reception she had tried to escape from, before a certain younger sister dragged her back. "How about you? Enjoy the buffet?"

" I was just getting ready to excuse myself to go find you, actually." As much as he enjoyed parties like this, the captain enjoyed spending time with his wife much more, and after this last particular battle, he wanted to spend as much time with her as he could. Weddings were common enough - he was sure there was at least one more in his future, if the way that the Avatar and Asami were eying each other had anything to do with it.

" Yeah- too many vegetables on those for my liking." He'd had one of, course, but ended up passing the vegetables off to Rohan when he'd wandered by. " This champagne is nice, though."

" Lin, have I told you how beautiful you are today? Because you are." Saikhan stepped up to where she was standing off to the side of the party, two glasses of champagne in hand. He held one out to her with a smile before leaning in to brush a kiss to her lips gently. "How are you doing?"

" Am I right in saying that the only reason you're still here is because of a certain meddling sister of yours?" Saikhan asked jokingly, shooting a glance towards the dance floor where he could see the woman in question currently twirling her husband around, the both of them laughing.

His mouth twitched up into a smile.

He took a sip from his glass as he turned to stand beside her and slipped an arm loosely around her waist. " Oh, very much. Have you eaten anything yet? The octopus fritters are great."

" Oh, I'm enjoying myself very much. And the food is amazing- was it your choice or Varrick's? Regardless, its fantastic."

" You know, the kebabs were nice, but what I really enjoyed most about that wedding were all the very attractive waiters in skimpy outfits. I really enjoyed that part.”

He snorted loudly, ducking his head to hide his smile even though no one in the apartment could see him. Lin and Suyin and her family were all asleep, and it was only him and Toph and the dog sitting out in the kitchen. Everything seemed so much lighter now, now that the threat of death and devastation had been lifted from all of their shoulders.

He lifted the glass to his lips and took a long sip - it was strong, but sweet enough to hide it. The only types of liquors he enjoyed straight, if he were being honest.

" Lin and Su said that you showed up to help with the rescue mission - I would have been there, but Lin - you know Lin." He shrugged his shoulders, and reached down to scratch Chief's head, as she began nosing at his knee for attention. " I thought I'd missed out on a chance to see you."
