personally i think beat reporters should report the facts of the situation, but in a way that communicates their profound belief and unwavering delusion that the team they’re covering is still the best in the world. the homerism should be so baked in that a fan of another team should feel unclean just from laying eyes on it. what is the point otherwise. if i wanted vitriol and pessimism i could look at any male hockey fan’s twitter account. do your job.
