i don’t like to admit this, but yes, and they’ve been major things that ended both relationships. overextending yourself sucks, it really makes you want to pull back and just never let those guards down for anyone. i think that’s part of the reason why i was the exact opposite and i just didn’t open up past a certain point. relationships are fucked because they really force you to face the ugliest parts of yourself; and me being a leo means i fully ignore that shit!

"lack of communication, for sure. not being on the same page with your partner will always inevitably result in the downfall of the relationship, in my opinion. all that unexpressed negative energy leads to resentment and loss of feelings.. just ugly! i don't think the person who got cheated on would ever be the one to blame for the decision their partner made. it would really have to be in the case of some extreme situation like abuse for that to be valid. if someone made the decision to step outside of their partnership for sexual/emotional gratification, that's on their head."

SAKI’S eyes fell to the grip ZENO had on her arm. slowly they shifted back to his and she had half a mind to cause a scene, but decided against it since they were in a public space. “you’ve had—.” the woman held her words as he continued speaking, allowing her glowering gaze to travel over his features. his directive triggered her defiance but she pulled her arm from his hold and turned abruptly, purposely flipping her long mane in his face as she returned to her seat. the last thing she needed was to be in a close enough proximity to the male where her feelings for him could overpower any logical thought. “what are you protecting me from, jett?” she asked as she sat on the chair with one legged propped over the other. she leaned into the table to fold her arms over the cool surface, tapping her fingers in an alternating manner against her arms. “what are you caught up in?” she challenged as if the one that was actually caught up in something wasn’t her. “because to me, it just feels like you’re trying to keep tabs on me. it feels controlling, and i can’t deal with anymore of that,” she alluded to her arrangements with CARTER without diving deeper into it. the less people knew, the easier it was for her to keep up her facade. she’d done her best to keep the two separate and didn’t believe she gave ZENO a reason to be suspicious, so his behavior was alarming and made the woman anxious.

when the phone unexpectedly slipped from her grasp, SAKI jerked her head in the direction of the tall figure moving behind her. the speculative expression she once bore fell from her features, replaced by one of disbelief and exasperation as she watched ZENO take a seat before her. still in midair, her hand finally fell flat on the table and she stretched her arm forward to settle her fingers on the device and inch it towards herself. her true emotions hid behind the storm in her dark eyes when they connected with his and she smiled tightly, speaking after letting a moment of tense silence pass. “honestly, you’re a fucking dunce.” she tossed the phone in her bag and pressed her palms against the edge of the table to push her chair back and stand. she began walking away but stopped a few steps past and turned to face him. “i mean, using other people to get me—again?” with lifted brows, she glared at the male then scoffed, waving her hands. “it just doesn’t stop with you, jett.”

on her way to the elevator, SAKI’S phone buzzed in her hand and she turned over the device, allowing her curious eyes to scan over the incoming texts. her expression twisted at the inconvenient request and she checked the time at the top left section of her screen. securing the pink jacquemus bag between her underarm, the woman used both hands to hold her iPhone as her thumbs raced across the keyboard. she fired off an inquisitive response while she strolled into the elevator, making it past the threshold right before the sliding door closed. 

sage: it’s three am. what’s going on? 

she nibbled on the inside of her cheek impatiently and glanced around the empty lift as she awaited a response, blinking at her phone blankly when she got none. with a resigned sigh, SAKI decided to meet her friend. when she pulled up to the diner, she turned off her car’s engine and observed the quiet scene for a few contemplating minutes before exchanging her bag for a bigger one that fit her handgun. she then exited the vehicle and entered the diner attentively. she surveyed the place for a familiar face before she took a seat at the very back, shifting her attention away to call up her friend.

“i just needed a wee bit of clarity to make sure! s’all good now, let it be known today that you’re a good man,” SAKI cheesed.
