We all knew this was coming and I'm 100% going to be throwing this in the face of everyone who told me I was fearmongering or over exaggerating during the 2024 election.

This has been the goal of the electoral right for 70 years. Desegregation was literally the thing that caused the Evangelical Right to form.

And notice how this was a footnote in an executive order about "gender ideology," almost like bigotries are all connected and they're going to use attacking "gender ideology" as a Trojan Horse to jam through recinding all civil rights since a lot of y'all just decided trans people aren't worth fighting for.

Both include a large family meal and gift giving

Both include a visiting holy man (Santa Claus - the prophet Elijah)

Both are associated with solar dates (the winter solstice - the spring equinox)

The Christmas story also includes an allusion and inversion of the Exodus story, with Jesus fleeing to Egypt to escape a child-murdering Jewish king, an inversion of the Israelites fleeing from Egypt to escape a child-murdering Egyptian king.

It’s not lost on me that Bernie Sanders is the only mainstream politician touring the country rn listening to Americans’ concerns, giving them hope that a better world is still possible. Not campaigning for President, not an election year, just inspiring swing town voters to use their power to incite change in their communities.

Bernie is 83yo, doing the work that every single Democrat could be doing simply in their own district. He’s packing overflow rooms by the thousands in suburban and rural towns, not “democratic strongholds”. It is possible to get through the next four years but the status quo Dems aren’t going to make that happen.

Imagine what a true progressive party could do for the US. Leftist policy is popular and wins elections. Bernie and others have told us this for decades. If you tuned out his message before, I have to wonder what side you’re truly on. Because his shtick has not wavered with everyday Americans.
