Another important call-in has arrived.
Last Year's "Non-Profit Killer" bill, HR 9495, is now being brought back not as an individual bill, but as an amendment that House Republicans are trying to shove into their budget reconciliation bill. To the detriment of all. This hidden section would hand over the power to remove nonprofit status from Any organization the administration doesn't agree with.
YES. THAT EVEN INCLUDES WEBSITES LIKE AO3.
You can use this website to send a written message to your Senator AND House Congressperson. And you can use the script that comes with it to call your reps too. Please do so as soon as possible, as this is a matter of grave importance. They want to do these things in secret and rush them so we don't have time to react. This is and has always been their strategy. So please help this now if you can.
You can pare down the script from the above link for a call script. So please help by calling as well if you can. Thank you.
"As your constituent, I urge you to reject the inclusion of Section 112209 in the House Ways and Means Committee's budget reconciliation package — a dangerous provision known as the “Nonprofit Killer Bill.”
This proposed law would grant the incoming administration’s Secretary of the Treasury unchecked power to revoke the tax-exempt status of religious, charitable, and advocacy organizations based on vague allegations and even classified evidence that groups cannot challenge. It would undermine the First Amendment, violate due process, and open the door to politically motivated targeting of nonprofits — including those that speak out against U.S. foreign policy or advocate for Palestinian human rights.
This legislation follows other recent attacks on free speech, such as the Antisemitism Awareness Act and the Anti-Boycott IGO Act, which would suppress student activism and Americans’ right to boycott human rights abuses. Congress must stop this growing wave of unconstitutional overreach.
I urge you to:
1) Support any amendment to strike Section 112209;
2) Vote NO on any reconciliation package that includes this provision.
Publicly oppose efforts to silence protected advocacy and dissent. Please stand up for the First Amendment and nonprofit independence!"

The Government Wants To Ban Your NSFW
We all knew it was coming, and now it's finally here. As of 5/8/2025, Senator Mike Lee of Utah and Congresswoman Mary E Miller of Illinois have introduced to both the Senate and House what they are calling the "Interstate Obscenity Definition Act". To put it shortly, it's legislation intended to ban all forms of visual pornography and other NSFW content from the internet by amending the Communications Act of 1934.
This legislation has been introduced twice before, and both times it didn't progress very far. But with Age Verification bills and a war on NSFW content on the rise, this is not one to leave alone and hope it doesn't progress like the last times it was introduced.
The text of the prior bills as to how they intend to do this are to modify the Communications Act to disallow all forms of "obscenity" by defining it as follows:
"(38) OBSCENE; OBSCENITY.—
“(A) IN GENERAL.—The term ‘obscene’ or ‘obscenity’, when used in a manner or context that explicitly refers to, or could apply to, a picture, image, graphic image file, film, videotape, or other visual depiction, includes a picture, image, graphic image file, film, videotape, or other visual depiction that—
“(i) taken as a whole, appeals to the prurient interest in nudity, sex, or excretion;
“(ii) depicts, describes, or represents, an actual or simulated sexual act or sexual contact, actual or simulated normal or perverted sexual acts, or lewd exhibition of the genitals, with the objective intent to arouse, titillate, or gratify the sexual desires of a person; and
“(iii) taken as a whole, lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value."
This is a massive overreach and an attack on First Amendment rights of free speech and exchange of information on a scale that cannot be allowed in this current political climate. So I recommend that we get ahead of this while it's still in its infancy and let your representatives know without a shadow of a doubt that we will not stand for this.
Here is the House version of the bill, H.R. 3297
And here is the Senate version of the bill, S. 1671
Following here is a brief call or email script you can use to contact your representative and speak out against this egregious attack on your First Amendment Rights.
"This Bill [insert House/Senate bill number here] is a grave attack on our rights as American citizens to access content and speech which is guaranteed to us under the First Amendment. Whatever your opinion on prurient content or pornography is, it is a vast overreach of the government to try and take away our rights as American adults to access lawful content. A blanket ban will do nothing to solve the issues related to it, and trying to ban it outright will only drive the industry further underground and give more power to those who would try to continue the industry illegally.
The better option is regulation so that this content can remain lawful and observed to ensure that it only reaches those who are allowed to access it and ensure that those who produce it are both safe and fairly compensated. Rather than criminalizing those who produce and share it when the exchange is between legal and consenting adults.
I encourage you to vote NO on [insert House/Senate bill number here]."

UPDATE ON THE TAKEDOWN ACT 4/7/2025
I have been informed that the House is going to have a committee hearing (energy and commerce committee) on the Take It Down Act. This is a bill that Trump has pushed hard to get passed so that he can abuse it and use it to take down social media posts criticizing him. Its another mass censorship tool disguised as "protecting kids".
Fight for the Future has provided both an explanation for why this bill is extremely dangerous, as well as a call script and direct link to your lawmakers! They couldnt make it easier. Its here:
Here is a link to the committee members. It is a full committee hearing.
This is the number for energy and commerce (202) 225-3641 please call their secretary and tell them to spread the message to say no if your rep isn’t on the committee
If you’re not American tell your American friends to call that number

Red Alert Bill - HR 1526
According to the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the House Judiciary Committee has just passed H.R. 1526, also known as NORRA or the "No Rogue Rulings Act" of 2025. This highly dangerous bill could, if allowed to pass, could severely limit the power of federal judges and district courts to pass nationwide injunctions against bad executive orders and legislature.
This is nothing but a blatant attempt to limit the courts ability to stop illegal executive orders and actions at the hand of Donald Trump. Without this power, there would be no chance to stop the effects of these dangerous movements nationwide without them being completely repealed. Especially when there are already several checks to the power of the judiciary branch.
Trump and his MAGA cohorts and Republican toadies are already trying to strip away the checks and balances provided to the other branches of government to continue his dictatorial rampage. Don't let him take any more power.
Find your House representatives and call/write them. This bill could go to the House for a vote as soon as next week, so I urge you to act quickly. Thank you in advance for your efforts, and let's not let them push past any more harmful legislative efforts.

SAVE SECTION 230
CALL YOUR REPS AND SAVE SECTION 230 AND STOP THE TAKE DOWN ACT
I know the past few months have been hard on all of us but a greater threat approaches. major gov leader and douchbag dick durben wants to sunset section 230 and pass a bill called the TAKE DOWN act, both bills have the capacity to give the t@ump administration complete control the internet. Basically making it impossible for the average American to make their own online platform. If you want your favorite glitch show or any indie show like helluvaboss, hazben hotel, or any glitch production to continue to make merch and support them and maybe yourself if you want to make an indie show….
CALL YOUR REP AND STOP THEM FROM DESTROYING SECTION 230 AND STOP THE TAKE IT DOWN ACT!

🚨KOSA is back and being pushed heavily in congress right now
I really hate to do this, but KOSA, the bill that is a mass censorship and surveillance bill that will specifically censor all LGBT content online to "protect kids", is back.
KOSA advocates have brought in support from Elon Musk (I wish I was making this up) and are trying to get him to get Donald Trump to speak out in support of it. (And they lie and tell us it's not an anti-queer bill 🙄). The reason so is because the holdouts that are stopping this from passing are...republicans. It's GOP House leaders Steve Scalise and Mike Johnson. If they succeed and put this in an end of year spending bill, it will be near impossible to get it out and it will most likely be passed. Pro-KOSA advocates were on the hill today pushing hard to pass it. They have a lot of support behind them. There is only two weeks left in congress, so if they don't succeed, it's over.
The ONLY way this bill has stalled so much so far is because of calls driven to congress. It has worked and can still work. Please, spread this as much as you can and call House leadership and spread the word! You don't have to be from their district. You can pretend to be GOP. It doesn't matter, just call and voice your opposition. Trump and Musk clearly have a lot of sway over these people and I'm really scared they will succeed at the last minute!!
Here are their numbers: Scalise: 202-225-3015 Johnson: 202-225-2777
If you don't know what to say, use either call script! It takes less than a minute, I swear.

HELP STOP KOSA,CALL YOUR HOUSE REPS
Tumblr media
With the end of the year approaching, we are expecting KOSA to be slipped into an end of the year spending bill. We cannot allow it to pass. There has been push by parents to bring KOSA back, not aware how dangerous KOSA actually is for children online. It would make it mandatory for platforms online to enforce age verification via ID, and deeming any content "inappropriate" for kids to be banned. This could range from not safe for work content, to health ressources, to climate change. It'll be up to politicians to dictate what is and isn't proper for kids, and, of course, killing encryption. Imagine the damage. Please focus on the entire leadership of the House,as well as reps generally, telling them to not bring KOSA up. Speaker Johnson must also be contacted, whos number is: (202) 225-2777 Heres a list of House reps to contact: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IyBUe6frFGF44rJQU3TahZ5zyG3tC7jai_hPneAKlnM/edit?tab=t.0 Use the call tool to call the House : https://www.stopkosa.com/ https://www.badinternetbills.com/#kosa
Here are scripts you can use : if your rep is GOP : I am urging you to VOTE NO on KOSA, the Kid’s Online Safety Act. This is a dangerous bill that will harm children. Many news organizations have reported that this bill actively harms kids by exposing their private data to strangers under the guise of protecting them. We need to hold Big Tech accountable, but KOSA is not the solution. The bill let any state attorney general and the FTC to sue any website for “harmful” content. Do we really want blue state lawyers deciding what can and can’t be allowed online? Big Tech is already censoring us. That’s why they support KOSA. This is massive government overreach. We need a bill that actually protects children by creating better security measures instead of bringing about more censorship. Multiple experts agree this bill pushes age verification, even with the new language. KOSA hands more private data of children to third party companies, which would put them in further danger. How is this protecting children’s privacy? What parent would want their child’s private data in the hands of strangers like this? KOSA is actively putting kids in danger. Do NOT support this bill. Thank you. if your rep is DEM: I am urging you to VOTE NO on KOSA. Nearly 200 human rights and LGBT organizations total came out in an open letter opposing it. The ACLU is against it. Hundreds of thousands of Gen Z, who actually live online, are against it. We know the harms of social media, and we know this is not the solution. The new language does NOT meet any concerns brought up, in fact many organizations were ignored. Major news have reported that this bill actively harms kids. We do not want this. The rewritten bill would still allow any state attorney general, and now the FTC, to sue any website for “harmful” content. When you have Republicans calling anything LGBT “sexual exploitation” or anything about race “CRT” to successfully ban books and teachers, then they will use any justification to censor the internet. The Missouri attorney general used “mental health” successfully to ban gender-affirming care with backed up research. Suicide rates will skyrocket for marginalized youth with this bill restricting content. Multiple experts agree this bill pushes age verification, even with the new language. KOSA hands more private data of children to third party companies. Furthermore, updated language threatens encryption the same way the Earn It Act does. How is this protecting children’s privacy? KOSA actively harms kids. Do NOT support this bill. Thank you.
Tell them you'll vote for your reps if they vote no on KOSA,anything goes. But most importantly it's crucial that KOSA is not being brought at all for any vote. Also,to note, Biden supports KOSA: You could try asking your GOP rep why they would support a bill that has Biden's support, and that he could use it to his advantage somehow (we know GOP does not like Biden,so it should be utilized somehow). We need to ensure the bill doesnt pass at all.
Last but not least: COME JOIN OUR ANTI KOSA SERVER ! we organize to help fight against bad Internet bills ! https://discord.gg/pwTSXZMxnH

yo hey US people who sent in absentee ballots, they are tossing mail-in ballots for no reason. i just had to call my county board of elections and demand a cure for my ballot because north carolina didn't send out any notices of issues with ballots, and the issues are fake. if you voted by mail-in make sure your ballot was actually counted
