Edward Hart x Reader

How did it come to this? How many years of living had he gone through, how many humans had he seen come and go that he'd nearly written them off at one point. How did it get to this, that a human like you could capture his heart so wholly and completely.

Edward made more of an effort lately to come down from his room. Though that was only on the nights he knew you would be there in the bar.

You, with your radient smile that lit up the room. You laugh that made his heart sing. And oh, when you locked eyes with him from across the bar, his whole world froze for that moment of time.

He liked to think he was immune to the charms of humans after all these decades. Indeed, you hadn't seemed like much to him when he first met you. Just another human fated to die far too early.

But then he got to know you. Got to see how you interacted with Rui and Lyca with only kindness and warmth. The same kindness and warmth you shared with him, too.

He fell hard for you. He didn't even realise it until one night he happened down into the bar, and you turned and beamed at him. He'd felt his undead heart freeze at the sight, and in that moment, he'd wanted nothing more than to tell you everything about himself so you could know his heart lain bare.

He couldn't get thoughts of you out of his mind. He craved to be near you in whatever capacity you were willing to offer. Though, he would admit, the idea of you only wanting him as a friend and turning to the arms of another near broke his heart.

He was unused to the ways of humans, despite his years of living. He didn't know how to tell you, didn't know if he should. Then you both ended up on a mission about love, him playing the part of a Bachelor, you the part of the one searching for your soulmate.

Those days were the most open and honest he felt he'd ever been about his feelings. His promises are all real. Though, part of him was glad you never got to say who your choice was. It would have broken something in him to hear you declare another.

It was to his surprise that you came by the day after you were all back at Darkwick. A confession laid bare to him in the privacy of his room.

He'd never tasted anything as sweet as when he placed his lips to yours in response. He wanted to memorize everything. Your taste, your touch, your very essence.

Then you said the thing that made him fall for you all over again.

"Turn me. Give me an eternity by your side."

A whispered plea, a chance at life anew.

How could he ever say no to you? Not when it was what he desired as well.

An eternity, with you. Once something he only dreamed of, but now his reality.
