I think if you want to make an argument wrt homestucks quality the best argument you can make is Karkat. Cause Karkat's entire meta-theme is that he's infectiously likable even though he comes across like an asshole, and it not only works in the story but like. on a real-world level.
Karkat first appears 1353 pages in as a rando calling the sweetest main character an idiot and by the time he's properly introduced 600 pages later people are so on board with him being the deuteragonist of the story it becomes common to tell people just to skip right to his part. For all Homestuck can stumble while making its convoluted meta-meme as gnostic reimagined thematic hypertext bullshit stick the landing, boy howdy, when it tells you you will love this shouty boy despite yourself, it fucking delivers.
