Came up with an art challenge for June/Stitch Month! In the past, I'd celebrate by drawing one 6-series for each of their "days" leading up to Stitch, or working on one giant piece I'd release on 6/26. Many fans have their own ways of celebrating, but for this year, I decided to create a challenge for others to take up if they're interested!

Each entry on the list is based on a 6-series experiment, whether it's their personality, function, name, or One True Place. Not all are canon, so you definitely don't have to draw them if you don't want; this originally started as a personal plan where I was going to draw each experiment hanging out with Lilo and Stitch, but grew to become this art challenge the more I thought about it.

After the remake turned out so horribly, I think we could use something like this to help us get through the month. Feel free to participate in the challenge however you want! 🌺🌴🌊🚀✨

I’d imagine that in the very early days of the lab, Jumba would hold up his newly made experiments and brag about them and their powers to the computer 
In this case it’s Hammerface 
Also drawing Jumba wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought it would be, which was cool to find out

What if Lilo and Stitch (2025) was an in-universe movie about Lilo and Stitch's story?

(Scene: Lilo, Nani, Stich, Pleakley, Jumba, David and Cobra sit in a movie theater with the lights coming on. The first five just stare in slack-jawed disbelief, Cobra is as stoic as ever, and David forces a smile.)

David: "Well. That, uh... wasn't too bad, right? The effects were decent, and the actors did a good-"

Nani: "WHAT THE FU-?!" (glances at Lilo) "Er, what the freak was that bullroar??"

Lilo: (pouting) "Apprently ohana means 'screw your family, going to college is all that matters'."

Stitch: "Stitch expected nothing. Stitch still disappointed."

Jumba: "This is an absolute travesty!"

Pleakley: "I know, right? How could they reduce your character to a cold-hearted, one-note monster?"

Jumba: "Hm? Oh yes, that too. But what have they done to Jumba's beautiful accent??"

Cobra: (pinches the bridge of his nose) "I told you you should have argued for full creative control."

If we could stop fighting each other about this remake, that'd be cool.

I have little to no patience for people dismissing those who are pointing out the very real issues this remake has, striking first because of insecurity and fear over being attacked for enjoying the remake, or for people who want to bring back the idea of a "true/fake fan" over this. I didn't tolerate it then, and I especially don't now. I don't care about the "reasons" for doing these things, I care that they're done at all; it's completely unacceptable behavior. It gets us nowhere and only makes us miserable and angry at each other, while Disney gets to keep doing the stupid shit it always does.

If you want someone to focus your rage at, do yourself a favor and look at Disney itself. Fellow fans and people who enjoy (or even prefer) or hate the remake are not the problem and never have been. It's Disney, and it's always been Disney.

So this is the one that's getting the full color+background treatment, mostly because...it's the most accurate to how I feel at the end of the day. Of course I'll elaborate when it's done but I feel drained and kind of miserable over how unexpectedly terrible the remake turned out. I know what I need to do to fix my mood but it's too recent and I need a bit of time; already steeling myself for June and all the work I plan to do for it though, and I may make an announcement about one of my projects/a prompt or challenge for the month, but I'll see

So, I have no faith in the live action version especially after Pinocchio, so I have created this on the occasion it’s cringe

So for those unaware (I envy you), this is far from the first time Disney's messed with the L&S franchise. They've done it before, they WILL do it again, they have no shame. I've long given up expecting them to do the right or even practical thing with L&S, so I just spend my time making my own art and writing for it. Even more so for me because my favorite (the little triclops(?) bastard in my avatar) is deeply unmarketable and so antagonistic in design I've just never had the luxury of being appealed to at all. Honest to god I'm kind of glad for it, Heat having one of the ugliest faces of the experiments makes it hard for Disney to touch him and I hope it can stay that way for a while

In light of this nonsense, I'd advise either creating your own art/writing/etc., supporting those of us making fanworks of our own, or showing the original, the sequels/spinoffs, or the ongoing (and upcoming) books and comics some love and attention. They could use it and there's never a bad time to revisit them
