Here's my question of the week: what's a couple, either real or fictional, lovers, siblings, or both, who Sam and Dean remind you of? I want some parallels!

(And I'll have you know this question was inspired by me thinking about how much they aren't like Romeo and Juliet at all, so don't answer that unless you want to hear me go on a rant)

oh i have a few answers for this

so for sibling co-dependency and obsessive behaviour it's ginger and brigette from ginger snaps. they're not super similar otherwise, but the sibling dynamic is striking. if sam and dean were girls they'd be SO close to the fitzgerald sisters

in terms of like...trauma arcs? derek and stiles from teen wolf come pretty close for me. derek, like dean, has a history of coercion with sex and very much uses his body as a tool. he's got anger issues, impulse control problems, and he's completely out of his depth interpersonally. bonus points for his family dying in a fire and for having multiple torture and coercive sex arcs within the canon show as well. and stiles is a good sam mirror too - he has a possession arc that centres around loss of control, dysmorphia, dissociation, and harming those around him. he faces an evil version of himself while trapped in his own mind. in later seasons he's haunted by that history. he's also significantly more morally grey in comparison to the protagonist, which is So Sam.

mythos wise there's obviously cain and abel, but i personally always think of them as skoll and hati (the sibling wolf children of fenrir, who chase the moon and sun across the sky during ragnarok) because that is SO in theme with supernatural as a Show

So, last week, jinkieswouldyoulookatthis mentioned that canonically, Dean has watched "Lost Boys" many, many times, and that is one of her favorite movies so she would love to watch it with him and Sam to get to see what his favorite parts are and generally have that experience. And it was really interesting and I liked hearing it. So. In that vein.

If you could do one thing with Sam and Dean, what would it be? It doesn't have to be something they've done in canon, either.

ohhhh this is a good question

i’d like to go to a concert or a festival with them! a lot of their fav bands are no longer touring or are on their last rounds, but something like download or what soundwave used to be for us aussies would be amazing. also they’re both tall and scary enough that i could probably get a barrier spot and be safe

alternatively, a hunt for one of the australian supernatural phenomena would be neat…maybe one of the non-dangerous ones, like the min min light

and of course there’s the nc-17 answer, which is that i’d like to get railed by them both at the same time lmao
