Also, before I go to bed:

Mark’s acting has improved so much?? Like, I was blown away over how much he’s improved. Ranging from seriousness that borders on intimidating:

To desperate:

To hopelessly angry:

To shrieking at you in rage (I legitimately flinched when he shouted, “…you threw it all away.”)

To the horrifying shame of realizing that he was the cause of all of the deaths. This border of a laugh and a sob.

And this. Just.

All in a span of 10 minutes. This is not even mentioning his ego acting, where he has to embody totally different characters.

This? I’m just.

I know it’s a little parasocial to say this, but I’m so proud. The more I see this man improve in his craft, the more I’m absolutely soaring with joy.

We already know that Mark spent "multiple lifetimes" and quite possibly thousands of years (as per Lady's comment "it would take thousands of years to develop tech like this!") trapped in the warp core room building the core, but I don't think that even scratches the surface of how fucked up his experience was.

He has no food or water

We've seen through this timelapse that he could not leave the warp core room and was presumably respawning there after each death, much like how the captain usually respawns in the cryopod.

This means that he only had a few days to work on the warp core before dying of dehydration and respawning in the same cursed room. He would have been experiencing the side effects of said dehydration while trying to work, knowing that his only chance of breaking the time loop was to "re"build the warp core

Well, that wasn’t true. He had a few new tattoos. You supposed that made sense. But still, you had to stare. He was here. He was really here. Yeah, you’d seen Illy earlier, but he fucking left you, so he doesn’t count. Also Wilford, who kicked you out almost immediately and almost made you cry for it. But Yancy was here and talking and having a conversation and asking how you’ve been and oh boy, those are more tears. You hoped Yancy wouldn’t notice.
