Heterosexual relationship culture is so alien to me and I don’t know if it’s the fact I’m not cishet or the fact I’m autistic but I hear so many things that make me go “Am I insane or are they?”

There’s a lot of hate on widowers and I saw a woman say “You cannot compete with a dead woman.” which is perhaps a reasonable statement to say if he’s constantly comparing you to his dead partner but that wasn’t what the post was about. And I realized “Oh my God, these people genuinely feel like they’re constantly in competition with their spouse’s exes and the ex being dead makes them feel insecure that they cannot best her.”

There’s also been an uptick in the ‘men and women cannot be ‘just’ friends’ rhetoric which I feel like is extremely dangerous and reflects the rise of fascism and sexism. Some of these stories of women feeling threatened by their husband’s female best friend have some merit and others are like “I feel angry that my husband still talks to the girl he grew up next door to and she and her wife are invited to family gatherings and included in family photos sometimes. Am I right to be suspicious?” No. No you’re not. I cannot imagine being you and living with that high level of stress and paranoia and constant torment and jealousy about your husband having a positive relationship with anyone who isn’t you.

So I got recommended a video talking about @thebbros and it reminded me of Hailey-Senpai, who did comic dubs for it and how I got introduced to both her work and BABTQFTIM.

I already found out about her passing like, last year or a bit before when I got really into electro-swing and the song she used for her intros started to play and I went looking for her channel out of nostalgia and found out she passed away due to a car crash right before Christmas.

Still, got nostalgic and went to watch the old comic dubs and just scrolled through her old posts. Her last community post shattered me all over again. Seeing her have such bright plans for the future, wanting to make a video reflecting on her older videos, wanting to sell merch, wanting to share future projects and just engage with her community.

She had such a bright future, it's really not fair.

And I've recently started to follow @/myth-of-the-machine, which is a rewrite of BABTQFTIM, and man I think she would have loved it, maybe even do dubs for it, I would have loved to see her do it nd her reactions to it...

It still brings me to tears and I'm still heart broken over it. It's so not fair, and still feels so sudden too.

Also, it wasn't announced at all in her channel. I can't remember how I found out, I think when checking her comments? And when I went to look it up, I found the post talking about it in the BABTQFTIM Amino community. So a lot of people don't know about this who were in the community, so if this is how you find out... I'm sorry.

May she rest in peace.

There’s nothing that tickles me more than when there’s a defined group of superhero’s/mutants/aliens and then their token human buddy the writers always add to make them more relatable to the audience.

Except, the writers now run into the conundrum of explaining how and more importantly WHY a “non-mutant, not magical, 100% genetically normal human” is tagging along with the likes of The Justice League/TMNT/Transformers.

And every single time the best solution is to just make them a Certified Freak of a human being.

This project has been nothing but a delight for me. I actually feel like I got somewhere to go and I'm not wandering aimlessly in life. I'm so excited for this project and I couldn't be happier. And I don't think I would have gotten this far without you, so thank you so much.
