I juggle my time between lifting boxes, inhaling fiction, getting lost in my city, and laughing at mostly my own expense. Stay in school, kids.Yo, what's up.

Artist Henrique Oliveira Constructs a Cavernous Network of Repurposed Wood Tunnels at MAC USP
Brazilian artist Henrique Oliveira (previously) recently completed work on his largest installation to date titled Transarquitetônica at Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Universidade in São Paulo. As with much of his earlier sculptural and installation work the enormous piece is built from tapumes, a kind of temporary siding made from inexpensive wood that is commonly used to obscure construction sites. Oliveira uses the repurposed wood pieces as a skin nailed to an organic framework that looks intentionally like a large root system. Because the space provided by the museum was so immense, the artist expanded the installation into a fully immersive environment where viewers are welcome to enter the artwork and explore the cavernous interior. Transarquitetônica will be on view through the end of November this year, and you can watch the video above by Crane TV to hear Oliveira discuss its creation.
I’ve been listening to too much Tanis. I mean, given how this show has too many recurring plot threads and characters, you kinda have to relisten or draw a terrible flow chart to remember what happened last episode and who a voice is that you’re supposed to remember. The only thing the show has permanently hammered into me is that the Pacific Northwest is magic as fuck.
So when I watch some Gravity Falls and hear Dipper say something like, “...yadda yadda yadda Gravity Falls is in the Pacific Northwest... it’s a magic doohickey place that might be a myth...paraphrapseparaphrase...”, I start wishing for some crossover where Nic Silver drags Meerkatnip along via skype because he thinks this place is also TANIS CLOOS.
Of course, everyone probably just says, “Never mind all that :)”. Morgan, who probably followed along via sneaking around bushes, tries to aggressively help, and just ends up fitting in perfectly. Also, Jeff comes along because why not. I just want to picture him getting along with Soos, and how they’d go on about how they want their respective bromances with a boss and radio dude to blossom.
