a sour jar is a hex used to quite literally sour someone’s life.

materials

jar

vinegar (this is the base): souring

urine: symbolizes you literally pissing on this person’s life

rusted nails, razors, pins, etc. (you don’t have to have every type): pain and deterioration

hot spices such as cayenne pepper, paprika, and black pepper (you can also add hot sauce): this person will be irritated and burning

spiders and insects: more negativity is added into the hex, paranoia to the person

lemon slice: sours the life of the person

petition: this can include brown paper with the name of the person, an image of the person, or any type of dna from the person

put in the gloves to protect you from the ingredients

add the vinegar into the jar first

add the rest of the ingredients in, focusing on the intention of each item

you can also audibly swear into and at the jar, you can even flip it off

cover the jar, give it a little shake, and you can either pour melted black candle wax over the jar OR light a black chime candle on the jar and let it burn out

keep the jar in a dark place for 7 days, shaking it a bit every day

to dispose of the jar, you can either throw it into the trash, bury it in a crossroad, or throw it into a body of water

make sure to stay safe! sage the area or whatever else you do to keep your environment cleansed ✨

Herbs & Their Uses: Glamour & Attraction Herbs

Cardamom Seed💧

This is like the spark to start a raging fire within someone. Cardamom seed is very sexy and spicy in all love works.

Catnip🌾

Catnip is a natural attractant, popular in Lesbian love works alongside lavender.

Cherry Bark🌲

Cherry bark can be used to make a lover out of someone who is married. Whether it is your spouse or another’s.

Cinnamon🍂

All around powerful sex and attractant spice. Use in cooking to influence passion, sexuality, and luck. Also good for money works. Attracts all things.

Coriander🍂

Attracts a fiery but loyal lover. Devotional men and women can be captured with coriander.

Juniper Berries🍇

The liquor of love works. This one lowers inhibitions and enhances sexual activity and urges. Feed to your lover alongside Figs for fertility before trying for kids.

This one is used for both love and protection. I loved this Root in high school it’s a good way to deflect pettiness in young love.

A very Hetero herb. Used to attract one of the opposite sex to you. Tie your hair to it and sneak onto the person you wish to have. if it crosses the threshold of their home on their person - They’re yours. (Until they find the charm.)

Patchouli Leaf🍃

Burn to attract money and love. Good herb for grandiose glamours and luxury works. Also smells really nice.

Poppy Seed💧

Adds confusion to glamours. Not all glamours are about looking pretty, some of them are meant just to keep the mystery intact.

Orris Root (Queen Elizabeth Root)🌿

Attracts a man to a woman. Not good for Homo male love works. Very common herb for lover works.

Rose Petals or Buds🌹

Buds are used for new love to grow or old love to settle. Petals are used to promote love in general. Add the petals to a bath of sugar and honey to attract love and stuff the buds into a doll baby alongside raspberry leave and rue. Place the doll on its own altar and light pink candles on Friday for it. If a lover comes to you - do not let them find the doll. If that lover leaves you. Burn it.

Safflower Petals🍃

Daddy Petals - oop I mean safflower Petals are famous amongst gay men. Use them to attract a dominant man into your life. Before you go out grab three pinches - one to rub behind each ear - one to rub under each pit - one to rub on the bridge of your privates and your bum. Burn them on charcoal and smoke your body. This will help you get a dom gay man.

Senna Leaf🍃

Senna Leaf? More like senpai Leaf. Senna leaves are used to get the attention of someone who doesn’t notice you. Put it in a pouch or locket and wear to use as a glamour charm.

The air is changing, with a crisp smell of leaves and a wind that tickles your skin! This is the time of year where the veil is thinning. Autumn is coming and the sun is ready to rest. This is third harvest, and the last one. The meaning for Samhain (sow-in) is that summer has come to an end.

What is the veil? 🌫

During times of the year the veil can thin. We are coming up to Samhain, which means the veil is thinning. The veil is where the seen meets unseen, form meets spirit, known meets unknown. During meditation or rituals, you can find yourself gazing into a place between worlds. The reason it gets thinner is because there is a transition with the days getting shorter, nights getting longer. The natural world is withdrawing from the realm of life and growth. With this, the veil thins.

🍽Samhain food🍽

🥧Turnips, apples and apple cider, gourds, nuts, mulled wines, beef, pork, poultry, ale, bram brack (dark loaf or cake made with dried fruit), corn, mugwort tea, pumpkin, squash, and colcannon🥧

🍎 Apples- Cut an apple in half to see five seeds. This represents the pentacle. They are also divination tools. They are also considered the food of immortality.

🎃 Pumpkins, gords and turnups- Carve them and light them up! Tools for protection.

🌰 Walnuts, hazelnuts, and chestnuts- used for divination.

🥖 Bread and grain- using the harvest from mabon.

🌿 Rosemary- Dispells negative energy. Also used for remembering the dead. Amazing to put into your bread.

Great Aunt Gladys Pumpkin Bread

-not my recipe

3 1/3 cups flour

3 cups sugar

1 Teaspoon Cinnamon

1 Teaspoon Nutmeg

Pinch powdered Cloves

1 1/2 Teaspoons Salt

2 Teaspoons Baking powder

+ NOTE: Dry roasting the herbs in a pan for a few mins,

just until you can smell them, with give you a MUCH more flavorful end result

4 Eggs

1 cup Vegetable oil

2/3 cup Water

1 15 oz Can of Pumpkin

Or you can roast or boil fresh pumpkin 15 oz

1 cup walnuts or Pecans (optional)

* Mix *

Beat wet ingredients, eggs, add oil and water.

In another bowl mix dry ingredients, flour, sugar, salt and spices.

Make a well of the dry and gradually add wet ingredients.

Mix and pour into greased loaf pans (pound cake size)

Preheated oven at 350 for 1 hour.

Yields 2 -3 breads

Regardless if you are a writer, artist, musician, or even just a web developer, losing your muse and finding yourself in a creative flunk just sucks. It’s frustrating and can bring some of us to pull our hair out. For some of us, it can mean the difference of having a job and not. So, here’s a little something to help us out during those times.

Spell to Bring Creativity Back to Your Life

Ingredients

1 yellow candle

1 purple candle

1 blue candle

Rose Quartz

A sample of your medium of your craft (For example, a pencil for writing or sketching, a paintbrush for painting, etc)

(Optional) A mint or citrus scented incense or candle

Steps

Cleanse yourself before starting the spell as well as your magickal and creative work spaces

Being mindful of any rules against burning stuff as well as common sense candle safety, light the blue candle. Then, light the purple candle to the right of it and then light the yellow candle in-between them. They should be arranged in the shape of a triangle. See the diagram below.

Place the scented candle (optional) and rose quartz in the center of the triangle and light the scented candle

If you are able, sit comfortably in front of the candles and meditate. Relax. Think about a past project. Remember the process of starting it, working on it, and completing it. Now, think of your present projects and where you are with them. Visualize yourself physically finishing them. Think about your future projects. Visualize yourself starting, working on, and finishing them.

Pick up the rose quartz and hold it over your naval and recite the following with confidence: Just as past, present, and future gods, I am a creator. Nothing else can create what I create just as I do. The fruits of my labor manifest at my will, and just like those gods, nothing can nor will prevent me from loving my creations or my love to create and, by my word, I will keep creating

Meditate for as long as you feel necessary then blow out the candles and clean up your ritual.

Blood Magick 101

One of the most common things I am asked besides how to begin in witchcraft is, “What is Blood Magick? Is it real?”

The short answer is…yes, but not in the way you think. Please keep in mind while you read this that a lot of closed religions use blood as an integral part of their practice and how it affects their practice is usually very different from how it affects the general open practices. This post does not apply to those closed packages as I do not practice them or possess any in-depth knowledge of how they work, but rather the general open practices with blood. If you are a member of one of those closed religions, however, please feel free to add onto this post with your experiences!

What is Blood Magick?

When we hear the phrase, “Blood Magick”, we might think of sacrifices, cutting our hands open with sacrificial blades, or, if you’re like me, you think of the big “no-no” practice that universally brands you as evil in the video game series, Dragon Age. This is all a result of popular media displaying this magick as such. In reality, blood magick is not as exciting as it is portrayed in media and can, in fact, be totally painless! General Blood Magick is when you use blood as a source of energy for your spell, ritual, charm, etc. It can reap benefits, but it very unstable and your results might not be what you expect. While the blood used is usually your own, it doesn’t need to be. I have known witches who have used game animal blood! Wherever you get your blood, it is important to receive it ethically!* 

How can I be safe when using Blood?

It is important for you to use certain protocols when dealing with blood, before any magick is in involved. Here are some general ones I’ve learned from a phlebotomist:

Never reuse needles

Never share needles

Do not attempt if you are anemic or you have any blood clotting disorder/ are on any blood-thinning medication such as Plavix

Always dispose of needles properly so that there is no chance for children, animals, garbage men, or even yourself can get poked. They actually make containers for you to dispose needles in. 

If you use a sharp object to acquire blood, ensure that the area you are using it on is clean and the needle is always sterile beforehand

Always know the source of the blood you are using, but also be sure to never get blood in any open wounds, cuts, or in your eyes. If this happens with blood you are not familiar with, immediately go to an emergency room to get preventative care. 

DO NOT INGEST BLOOD. IT IS DANGEROUS AND CAN LEAD TO A LOT OF DISEASES PLUS POISONING

It’s actually preferable if you use sanitary disposable gloves when handling blood, but at the very least, thoroughly clean any skin that got blood on it immediately.

If, at any time, you can not control the bleeding, go to the emergency room. You might need stitches. 

Do not try to acquire blood from any vein or vessel nor should you use any sharp object near one.

DO NOT HANDLE A SHARP OBJECT WHILE INTOXICATED IN ANY WAY. Look, I drink and don’t judge others who do so or like to get high. I know a lot of witches incorporate drugs into their craft. However, never use a sharp object when intoxicated. Your control and judgement will be compromised and you could seriously injure yourself without knowing. If it is absolutely necessary, collect the blood beforehand. 

Why would I use Blood Magick?

Blood magick is used when you need to infuse your very essence or a small part of your life energy into a spell, if using your blood, or the essence of a particular animal or their life energy. It is one of the most powerful ways you can charge give energy to a spell. If you are not very experienced in this, you should only use it in very desperate circumstances when all other options have been exhausted. I have seen witches use deer blood in a spell calling upon Artemis, the Greek God of the Hunt (among other things) and I have a friend who used blood magick when trying to save her house from foreclosure when she was told there was almost no chance she could save it, even with the proper budgeting and payments. 

Wait, you said I should only use it regularly if I was very experienced in it… what are the Magickal dangers of it?

Think of using Blood Magick as if using rocket fuel in a normal car. If you are an engineer, you might be able to build a car that can use rocket fuel reliably, but, if not, you most likely would build a non-functional or unreliable car, or worse, a car that just explodes. 

When you use blood, I mentioned that you are putting your very essence and energy into the spell. This very much ups the chance that you will be directly affected by the outcome of the spell, even if it was done for or on someone else. This goes double with any curses or hexes. It is also possible that you might get too much of the result you wanted or your result way too soon. If you are using animal blood, it is possible that it’s correspondence won’t agree with the purpose of the spell or the animal’s essence is just plain unwilling to cooperate. 

If you use unethically-sourced blood, you also open yourself up to the negative energies of the source including unsavory paranormal activity. It might take several rounds of cleansing to get rid of that energy. 

How much blood would I need for most spells?

Usually the tiniest drop of blood is necessary, if even needed. It would be equivalent of a finger prick when checking blood sugar levels. 

How would I use the blood?

It depends on the spell and the caster! I’ve seen it dripped on paper where the incantation is written out and I’ve also seen it mixed in a bowl of herbs (not for consumption). Generally, if you ask me, I will tell you that you most likely don’t need it for the spell you are doing.

*Ethically sourced is a very broad phrase, but I am referring to blood that is retrieved either from yourself, a willing participant who know what you are using it for and has given consent, animals that have respectfully and lawfully been hunted and consumed, or animals that have been respectfully and lawfully hunted and honored. You should never poach animals or steal blood from any scientific/medical institution, deceased persons, or receive the blood from a living human who is misguided or unknowing of your intentions with the blood.

To Help Summon Your Familiar/Spiritual Familiar

Incantation:

Within a few days time, visions of your familiar/spirit familiar shall come to you in your dreams.

Yule Wish Bottle

This was a gift that I gave to a friend for success, prosperity, strength and luck in the coming new year.  

You will need:

a small corked bottle whole almonds (employment, money, health) rose buds (protection) chamomile flowers (money, luck) bay leaf (strength) ground ginger (money, success, power) five finger leaf (money, health, power, wisdom) ground cinnamon (success, money) ground allspice (money, luck) ground clove (money) elm bark (protection from gossip and false friends) mandrake root (prosperity, gives the spell a kick) orange zest (joy, health, purification) rosemary a sigil for prosperity, strength, and luck

Add all of the ground ingredients to the bottle first.  Write the sigil on a small piece of paper and roll it up like a scroll and add it to the bottle.  Add the whole pieces last, arranging nicely as best as you can.  While doing this, you can whisper the specifications for your “wish” into the bottle or just focus on the desired outcome as you assemble the bottle.

A Quick Introduction to the 8 Pagan Holidays, or Sabbats, of the Year

Dates may Vary due to year, and multiple sources I have found have different dates

Yule (December 20-23): The winter equinox and when days become shorter. People begin to make preparations for the cold months and decorate trees with many cold weather foods to symbolize the continument of life in winter.

Imbolc (Febuary 2nd): “The promise of Spring” this is a time typically when sheep would begin to lactate, meaning they were pregnant. A time of celebration for the coming spring and crops and animals would be blessed. The goddess Bridgid would be honored as she symolizes fertility.

Ostara (March 19-22): The spring equinox and a celebration of the beginning of spring! Some easter traditions come from Ostara.

Beltane (May 1st): The festival of Fire and Mayday, the halfway between spring an summer, the weather is getting warmer for most! A time to be greatful for the gifts of Spring and many celebrate on Beltane Eve with big bonfires and on my first with flower crowns and may poles. Beltane is considered by many to be a holiday where the veil between worlds is very thin.

Litha (June 19-23): The summer solstice! Days are long enough for work and play and many announce engagements during this time and many continue for a full Harvest.

Lughnasadh(August 1st): Symolizing the first harvest and the midway point between summer and autumn. When many get married and celebrate this time with breads and fruits made available by the harvest. A time for gratitude.

Mabon (September 21-24): The autumn Equinox and the holiday we are enjoying right now! A celebration of the harvest and preparations for the winter soon to come. Celebrates abundance and the good reaped from labor.

Samhain (Oct 31- Nov 1): ITS HALLOWEEN! Annnd the witches new year. One of the most important holidays where the veil between worlds is thin. A time to honor loved ones, friends, familiars, and pets who have passed on. A very powerful time where one may focus on guidance, clearance of negative energy, and the beginning of a positive new year.

Pendulum tips

Pendulums are a tool many witches use to find answers to questions they want to ask, pendulums channel the power within you to find answers to the questions and do not contact the deceased unlike Ouija boards. The answers from a pendulum are already deep inside you, the pendulum just helps bring them out.

The tips:

- cleanse pendulums before you use them in salt or through a sage stick or incense

- carry your pendulum with you when you first get it so your essence rubs off on it

- each pendulum is different and has its own personality, play around with yours until you have a deeper understanding of its personality and you feel it has one of yours

- test pendulum to start with, with easy questions to warm it up

- you don’t have to have a pendulum cloth or you can create one yourself on a white board or paper

- use amethyst crystal as the tip of your pendulum to become more in tune with yourself and get answers more intune with your 3rd eye

- crystals do not have to be used as the pendulum point just use something heavier than the chain

- do not use pendulums to contact the dead

- meditate before and after doing pendulum work as it requires focus and grounding
