add the fact that it starts so early that not only do they not have the vocabulary to conceptualize that these things are turning them on, they don't have the experience to understand that they absolutely should not be consuming them together.

the scrambled explicit channels at a hundred motels. the same handful of tattered magazines badly hidden in john's duffel bag. the true crime pulp novels with six pages of black and white crime scene photos in the middle. the manilla folders stolen from police departments crisscrossing the county, eight-by-ten color glossy photos where the blood looks brown and skin looks grey-blue, bruises in every shade of the rainbow. (sam likes them bloody red-plum-purple; dean's partial to the yellow-green now-you-see-it of an old bruise starting to heal.) dad tying them up to practice getting out of restraints; tying each other up for that stomach-flipping hot rush. the motel sheets and pillows wadded up and shoved between legs, the hot panting little breaths against each other's skin. the shared showers, and the skinny dipping, and the single beds. the exploratory touches and the fumbling with all the lights on and every first time shared between the two of them.
