Midhope/Lallybroch is not Dollywood

Interesting to see speculation that Sam’s recently incorporated company will be the linchpin toward a Sassenach Spirits distillery.

Lallybroch is the home of JAMMF and by extension the Sassenach of his heart, Claire. It’s unique to DG books and the OL series.

It’s fair to say SS and its best seller The Sassenach is niche in the crowded celebrity booze market.

Establishing Lallybroch as SS distillery will take millions of pounds and time. Time that stares down a ticking clock to the completion of series eight and the end of OL, JAMMF, Claire and their daughter and grandchildren.

The draw to get bus loads through to the OL theme distillery and make it profitable is Sam and only Sam. Will his broad JAMMF shoulders be able to shoulder the burden?

That requires faith, hope and the charity of a fandom that will just have watching the series on repeat and of course Cons in perpetuity.

Could the business model be that a Glasgow Con will be in the grounds of the Lallybroch distillery?

The legend that is Dolly Parton brings patrons to her theme park, and it struggles.

Can this small niche fandom deliver in the initial stages of operation financial stability to grow and be profitable.

Ambitious goals are to be applauded. It’s the entrepreneurs of the business world who take big risks who are both rewarded and crushed.

Let’s see what the weekend delivers. Sam will have a section of his fandom literally in the palm of his hands. They will buy everything he sells.

The parochialism in regards to Caitriona’s bra less choice doesn’t surprise me. After all it’s from the same women who have critiqued her breasts since first seeing them in S1 and using the images from subsequent seasons to body shame her to validate the multiple pregnancies delusion.

I don't get it. We live in the 21st century and there is still a debate about whether women wear a bra or not and whether you can see a hint of their nipples or not.

While on the other hand, no one is upset that Lenny Kravitz has made wearing his net shirt and showing his nipples the norm.

What's the difference if someone wears a dress with a V-neck up to the navel, with a sideways view of their breasts?

Nipples are part of the human body, both male and female. I can't understand why people are still differentiating here?

Dueling best fans EVA!

It goes without saying that OL fans can spend their money in whichever way they want opening their wallets and donating during the month of April to causes that Sam has supported. It’s a race each year as to which fans will be the best ever. Best ever with the success being how much money can be raised in said month.

This year it’s two group’s fund raising for the Arts in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and hoping that this will be the year Sam will acknowledge the generosity publicly.

There is book to be written once OL has wrapped and the leads more away from this fandom.

A cautionary tale to be sure. Cult like behaviour seen in MPC, the OG Sam only’s , the Heughligans and the Jonny Come lately, Sparkle lounge members. Add in the [cool aid ] zeal in fund raising and Man it’s so interesting to witness from the sidelines each April.

As I’ve never been in other fandoms the childlike obsession to be noticed and acknowledged as the best ever is extraordinary.

Sam, Sam look at us, look what we have done in your name.

But Sam can’t be seen to favour one group, so he remains silent. Will this year be different? Will he give them what they want? Or will he save it for next year, the final chapter in the year’s long obsession to have Sam Heughan acknowledge you as his best fans EVER.
