Memory Lane// Valentine's Day
I logged into my old LJ account. Y'know. For giggles and grins. I came to the conclusion that I was a really dramatic lady child. I constantly complained about pretty much everything. I cringed a bit when i read it. Fuck, I almost just deleted the thing altogether. No one I followed had really updated in a long while, anyway.
It made me realize, though, that looking back, I had it made. Really had it made. It made me wonder if 3 years from now I'll look back and say the same thing.
Hmm..
It is now officially February the 1st and Thanksgiving Valentine's day is coming soon. I can actually say that I look forward to it. As a single lady, it can typically be a depressing day. A lot of people will be going to the movies, receiving flowers, cards, etc etc etc.But honestly, why be bitter about it?  I'm just tired of being so bitter about being single. I'm no good at shopping for men, so, thank God I got out of that one.
#Phew

My Brain hurts..
As of late I literally feel as if my brain hurts. Maybe from over thinking about all the things, or maybe because it's being taken over by a giant alien being.. thing. Or maybe I'm just over thinking about everything.
On a lighter (or heftier note, depending on how you see it..), Thanksgiving is next week! I'm actually excited about it this year because I was invited to a few events(?) and can actually attend because I am NOT working for the holiday this year. I usually just tend to bring myself, as that's all I'm usually told to bring. A couple of weeks ago, I decided that just "bringing myself" is kind of a douche thing to do. So, yeah. I'm liable to be bringing pies. Everyone loves a good pie, after all.
New video will be up tomorrow! I will start recording and editing later today(Or tonight?!).
xoxo,
Sam

Getting the creative juices flowing
So, I did finally post a new last friday! :D
After much thought I've decided to make and edit videos on Thursdays and then upload on Fridays.
As far as the course of my videos: I'll continue to make silly little vlogs, but I do have a few other ideas up my sleeve. With the help of a few friends, it's gonna be pretty amazing.
Well, that's all for now!
XOXO,
Sam

New video soon-ish.
I haven't made any new videos/posts in a while. It's not that absolutely nothing has been going on. In fact, quite a bit has happened. It's just that I happen to put the "Pro" in procrastination.
I love making videos, however, it's the editing that makes me cringe. And that's why I haven't posted a new one on le tubes. Meh.
So, look for that. I don't think I've ever promoted my channel here.

Happy birthday, Thelonious Monk! The jazz pianist and composer would have been 95. Hear an hour-long documentary about the “The High Priest of Bop.”

Capt. Sean Bercaw has thrown hundreds of messages in bottles into the ocean, and received dozens of responses. He talked to NPR’s Neal Conan about why, and the responses he’s gotten. At 13, he received a response from a woman in Grenada that read a little bit like a personals ad. And two bottles released on consecutive days both landed in France … But one took a year and a half, and the second took 10 years.
Have you ever thrown a message in a bottle? Have you ever found one?

Excitedness
So, I have a lot to be excited about today! I'm celebrating my off day by dressing up all pretty and attending a very important job interview. Granted, the job I'm being interviewed for isn't as close to my home as my current job, but it pays a lot more and is only 5 more minutes away. My current job is about 10 minutes away. Hopefully I find out today whether or not I get the job. The sooner I find something else, the better. Preferably this job in particular, but if not, then at least I'll have had an adventure today. YAY.

Suddenly, Graduation! part deux
Today is finally here. It's a day I never thought I would ever see, yet here it is. At the moment, my sisters are calmly eating their breakfast and it makes me wonder if they will look at life differently after today. I know it's only high school graduation, but I wonder because I began to look at a lot of things differently after I graduated from high school. I wonder if they will see this as the beginning of the rest of their lives.
I remember for the longest time, the girls wanted to be chefs with their own restaurant. "Twins" they would call it. Eventually, about the time they were in the 10th grade, they both decided otherwise. Mesha, the eldest twin, decided that she wanted to be a criminologist while Nesha, born 5 minutes later, decided that she wanted to be a cosmetologist and a photographer. Whatever makes them happy makes me happy.
As for now, graduation, good times, and a last high school memory. This is going to be an awesome day for everyone.

Also..
I think I'm going to try posting at least a couple of times a week. Y'know. Just because. And so that I can kind of get a feel of where this is really going. Right now I'm just not even sure.

book paintings by LA based artist Mike Stilkey
Los Angeles native Mike Stilkey has always been attracted to painting and drawing not only on vintage paper, record covers and book pages, but on the books themselves. Using a mix of ink, colored pencil, paint and lacquer, Stilkey depicts a melancholic and at times a whimsical cast of characters inhabiting ambiguous spaces and narratives of fantasy and fairy tales.

Tomorrow will be a day that I never thought I'd see.
I know how ironic that sounds, but it's true.
My little sisters' will be graduating from high school.

What was to be a brighter day..
Yesterday I'd anticipated being off today. I worked my shift, dreading it the entire way through. When my shift was over I bid my co-workers a warm farewell. "I'll see you's guys on Wednesday!", I shouted with excitement with Queen's "We are the Champions" Blaring in my head as I made my way to the time clock.
The very thought of being off today erased every bad thing that had gone wrong yesterday. Work, obviously, along with the fact that our water pipes had busted at home. "Well, it's a good thing that I don't have to work tomorrow!", I thought. "The house needs a good cleaning? Well, at least I get to that tomorrow!". Even being woken up early this morning was no big deal because in my mind I was free to take a nap later today.
And then it happened. I logged in to check my schedule because I wasn't sure what time I had to be at work tomorrow. And in turn, today suddenly looked a good bit dimmer.
I'm scheduled to work today. And that, my friends, is no bueno. :/
Well, At least I'm off on Thursday.
P.S. The water pipes as of 5 minutes ago are officially fixed.
P.P.S. Thank God I am exploring my options.

Learning new words.
Sunday started out as most of my Sundays usually do: At Work.
I didn't mind it at all, really. I was in pharmacy, away from the front registers, and all was well. You must, however, know that we usually get some real characters that come through pharmacy. Most of them are pretty funny. And the funny thing is that they don't even realize it.
I was doing my usual daydreaming at my post when suddenly, A tall creeper rushes over to my register. He looked a bit frantic as he leaned over to whisper something. his eyes peered from one side to the next as if he were up to no good.
"Where are your prophylactics?".
"I-I'm sorry..?"
He sighed and leaned in closer, speaking just above a whisper this time. I could tell that he was really trying to be discreet.
"Your Rubbers..."
I didn't know how to react, honestly. I'm really horrible at hiding what I'm feeling because I tend to make weird faces. So, I as I pointed in the direction of where these.. what were they? Oh, yes! "Prophylactics". I probably looked as if I were on the verge of laughing.
So, it turns out that tall creeeper guy was up to no good.
SECKS.
I am now going to start using the word instead of "condoms" because it just sounds classy as fuck. What do you think?
(Se)XOXO,
Sam
