Going to share some worldbuilding/lore from my AU without giving too much away

Unlike the KND, the teen ninjas only existed for around 30 years, created by the adults where they had gotten a group of newly decommissioned operatives and have them do missions for them, mostly in opposition of the KND, in exchange for teenager to get more privilege then kids. Ex- being able to drink root beer, being able to watch more violent movies, etc. Though the teens doesn’t have full freedom and independence, just enough where the teens believe their on equal footing with the adults. But in reality, the adults are always in control.

Which is why ever since the teen ninjas existed, their leaders came from household with heavy military/police influences. As those teens are most likely to follow authority figures and keep the teens in check to make sure they don’t rebel, all while the teens (even the leaders, as they believe they became leader due to their fighting or social skills) not knowing about this rule and how the adults actually view them. And the plan is working greatly for the adults.

And while we’re here. Might as well do an update

I’m currently on the outline stage and started on the characters designs. As I decide that my AU will be focusing on rewriting the chicken pox ep.

Basically it’ll be split into two arcs

My goal for the first arc is that everybody will have a basic introduction to my AU/version of the characters, their personalities, dynamics, etc while building up to the chicken pox arc

As my goal for the second arc is the actual chicken pox ep. Where it’s similar to the ep in concept but the execution is very different.

Okay so is this an convoluted concept even for KND

I want it where the chickenpox was created by a high-school theatre group. Let me explain

Basically the group had gotten tired and angry that they’ll spend months creating and practicing for plays. Only for kids (KND related or not) to ruin their plays one way or another. So they decide to create and give kids chicken pox so they won’t come to their plays and ruin it.

The leader of the teen ninjas at the time, decide that it was a great weapon to have, as they even created a canon on an abounded island though never gotten the chance to use it.

And the chicken pox slowly stop being used by the teen ninjas until now but that’s for another time.

Is that too much of a stretch or no?

My Wally’s Sentiments Toward Each Member of Sector V

Nigel Uno (Numbuh 1)

"He’s like… the big brother I never knew I needed but also wanna fight sometimes."

Wally deeply respects Nigel. He might roll his eyes, argue, or act like he’s not paying attention, but Wally sees Nigel as a true leader. He doesn’t just admire him—he idolizes him a little. In Wally’s eyes, Nigel always has a plan, always knows what to do, and always protects the team. Wally would never admit it, but he bases a lot of his own leadership instincts (especially in the future) on Nigel’s example. If Nigel believes in him, then he has to be doing something right.

Hoagie :P. Gilligan Jr. (Numbuh 2)

"My first friend. My partner. My brother. The peanut butter to my punching."

Hoagie was Wally’s first friend when he moved to the U.S., and that bond runs deep. They share dumb jokes, wild stunts, and unspoken trust. Hoagie is probably the person Wally feels safest being goofy around. There’s also this underlying softness: Hoagie never judged him, never made fun of him for not fitting in—he welcomed him. They may be polar opposites intellectually, but emotionally? They’re in sync. Hoagie is Wally’s ride-or-die. (Also, Wally lowkey thinks he’s one of the coolest cutest people ever, beside kuki even if he acts annoyed.)

Kuki Sanban (Numbuh 3)

"She makes the world brighter just by existing. And that’s terrifying."

This one goes deep. Wally has a crush on Kuki, yes—but it’s not just that she’s pretty. It’s everything she is: her joy, her kindness, her bravery. She sees the best in people, even in him, and that scares him sometimes. She’s loud and weird and pure and fierce—and she’s the only person who gets past every wall he builds. He’d never admit how much she means to him, but it shows in his actions. He’s always watching her out of the corner of his eye, always making sure she’s safe—even when she’s stronger than he is. He pretends she annoys him. But he’d go to war for her. No questions asked.

Abby Lincoln (Numbuh 5)

"She don’t need my protection—but I’d throw hands for her anyway."

Abby is like an older sister to Wally. Their banter is top-tier sibling energy, but when things get serious, he’d do anything for her. He knows how smart and capable she is, but that doesn’t stop him from putting himself in harm’s way if she’s in trouble. He also listens to her more than anyone else—even more than Nigel sometimes—because she gets him. Also, she’s the only one who knows when he’s lying about being fine.

KND hot take (this probably isn’t a hot take on tumblr but if I post it on something like twitter, it’ll most likely make people mad and stuff. So I’m counting it)

KND is one of those shows where I like to call it “nostalgic shows” where I made fun memories watching it when I was younger along with shows like Steven universe, Gumball, courage the cowardly dog, etc. basically a lot of old and new CN shows. (With some Disney and Nick shows) but if you ask me to rate it 1-10.

I’ll give it a soft 6/10 maybe even 5/10. Overall not the best but not overall worst. (Mind you it’s been a minute since I seen the show so bear with me on this one)

And I think it’s because of its latter seasons where characters start to feel a little more flanderize (Kuki is the best example of this.) along with the fact that it seemed like the writers didn’t know what if they wanted the show to stay episodic or go heavy into story driven and by the time they choose heavy story drive they’re like

“Oh crap we don’t have much time left. Lets do as much as we can and try to create a satisfying ending, while hoping for GKND to get green-light)

Which kind of work, I’ll cry almost every time with that end.

And this isn’t no disrespect to the creators or anybody who works on the show. Y’all created a show that thousands of people love and adore, me included.

This is just coming from a 16 year old who’s wish plot points was followed up on and not dropped and wish there was a little depth to some of the characters in the show.

This is no hate to OP I just want to add onto the conversation

I think another problem is the state of the animation industry. As whenever good and even amazing animated tv shows are created. Moon girl and devil dinosaur. Invincible fight girl. Jentry Chu vs the underworld, owl house, etc. either one of two things happen

1- they get fuck over by the studio and executives

2- people don’t watch or give bad faith criticism (not actual criticism just pure hatred) causing other people not to watch it. Which causes the show to then get fuck over by the studio and executives.

This isn’t me saying you shouldn’t criticize media. You should. I do it. Other people do it. Everybody should be critical of what they’re watching.

KND is a perfect example, I find the show really interesting as a concept and enjoy a lot of the episodes but if you ask me to rate it one out of 10, it’ll give it a soft 6 maybe even 5/10.

More so, try to have a mentally that’s more than “Rraww cartoons as better in my days. Now everything’s suck”.

And ask “why are things like this”

Again no hate to the creator. Just a topic I’m very passionate

Gosh do you guys know just how much more elevated the entire kids media landscape would currently be if there was even one original show with a concept and execution on par with the level of effort put into KND??

I just want to make an Update about what’s canon and what’s not canon in my AU.

Basically every episodes about the Teen ninjas, yes that includes Cree. Is either not canon, so like the vast of their episode. Or are semi canon like operation end or operation chicken pox, where the idea is the same but the way it’s executed will be vastly different.

Now when it comes to the delightful children and Father. The first two cake episode are canon and where the KND face them are canon. But they haven’t face against Father, at least not yet.

As I want him to be a more dangerous yet mysterious villain at the start. Without giving to much away, let’s say that not even the other adults would want to go against him unless their confidence is through the roof.

Also there reason why I said the first two cake episode is cause the AU will take a couple of weeks after Chad’s betrayal. So basically around the beginning of season 3.

Okay so this is just a post about what to expect from my AU when it finally does released.

My AU will be like a rewrite (but not in the “oh I can do better than these professional paid writers”) more so an rewrite that’ll flesh out the characters and plot lines as it’ll start off similar to the canon before going into heavy and I do mean heavy canon divergent. Think of it as like one of those “if Deku from mha become a villain” AUs

With the basic plot being the teens going from working with adults to go against the KND. To rebelling against the adults while also still going against the KND.

The tone will start off light hearted and tame before being more serious, espically with villains like Father. As I want him to be a little more threaten than he is than in the actual show. It’ll make more sense when it actually releases

I also don’t know how exactly long this’ll be just yet. But it’ll probably be a webcomic that’ll take a few years to complete depending on how constantly I upload.
