Moving to Twitter!

After some thought, I decided to move the majority of my operations to Twitter since the process of operating and maintaining something would be much less stress then Tumblr. But I do wanna get back into it. Life is alright but I miss the RP. Currently, I have plans to completely overhaul this character but that will be for Endwalker as I change my character into a Male Viera. Over the next few months, I’ll probably look into overhauling the blog and cleaning things up as well.

Though it was quite late in the hour, there was always time for a midnight snack. At least, so both Arenvalde and Silvana had seemed to think. Though the wanderer had spent much of his time on the road, it still helped to have a place now and then. A temporary rental home, if you would.

“I will admit, I am not entirely familiar with all of these Eorzean spices.” Aren would speak whilst digging through the various provided cupboards. Procuring some jarred peppers with curiosity. “I  will need assistance if in making anything, if that is alright.”

misfit. getting out of bed too soon, insisting they feel much better, and collapsing / passing out.

“I assure you. This is completely unnecessary.” Aren would fuss, sitting upright in the bed with much difficulty. “I have had much worse and I will not let a simple infection burden you with my self.”

In all honesty, he felt utterly miserable. Little sleep and minimal nutrition only compounded the fever assaulting his mind, reducing what senses he had into a surreal dreamscape. His only eye squinted in attempt to discern what was real and what was simply delirium, for his mechanical eye’s informational output was shut off due to his imbalanced state of being.

A sharp breathe preceded his speech, air sucking in through teeth. “I will not have you-” The Samurai would begin, only to find that his words could not cushion himself from the tumble he had taken out of bed. A few words in Hingashi could be heard, as the man tried to slowly upright himself and finding no strength. Defeated physically and now mentally, he simply resigned himself to laying on the floor as he had tumbled.

Voice Reference - Arenvalde

Eorzean isn’t Arenvalde’s native tongue and although the passage of time has been long enough that he does have a decent grasp of the language, it has not been nearly as long to remove the tones and enunciation of the hingashi language entirely from his voice, lending to some words having softer then intended pronunciation or simply having difficulty with harder intonations.

Although he has spent a great deal of time studying, practicing, and speaking Eorzean, Arenvalde still isn’t entirely comfortable with using conjuctions. He can and occasionally does use them, but it’s more of a concentrated effort rather then an automatic brain translation as it’s quicker and easier to piece together what he wants to say fully than in piecemeal.

He does not speak up often nor does he really wish too. In situations that allow it, the Samurai prefers to speak quietly and only loud enough so that the person he’s conversing with would hear and occasionally still receive every-so-often huh? In more crowded places, his voice may reach to that of room volume to compensate, but it’s merely compensation at that point. What he says, even in Hingashi, tends to be straight to the point. And while World-weary may not necessarily be the appropriate way to describe his tone, it provides the general direction and thought towards his also authoritative tone that has been well developed and strengthened from his time in the Sekkiseigumi. This makes it so that we have a soft or normally spoken samurai who speaks plainly, but in a tone that can be easily heard.

Thanks to his education and his delving into many works, Arenvalde seldom needs to use colorful terminology, pause midspeech, or really have a book on hand to translate. That is to say, however, he is not always perfect. Due to Hingashi rules of culture, he will typically address everyone by their last names and with a Mr. or Ms. unless he is familar with someone which might make him come off as perhaps far too formal. He does know this however and is usually corrected into what to call people. On the rare occassion, he might stop to think of particularly complex Eorzean word or terminology or use the wrong adjective to describe something. (I.E. The water is hot might come out as “The water is really fire”)
