A creature that resembles the sperm whale.

Identity: Whale, Humanoid

Personality: Emotionless, Childlike (newborn)

The main character of a metroidvania game. Does not speak.

The manifestation of the conscious of the world (the world is also a huge sperm whale).

Uses its cloak and stick to maneuver over obstacles and fight.

Assignment 7: Environment Design, Passage of Time

Tools: Procreate

A redesign based on last week's homework, where I want the whale to be hollowed out by erosion, while adding some lighting source/changing the color pallet to indicate the infection process of plague and erosions.

Descriptive Note:

The whale's husk after its power being sucked out by the monuments (when player activate save point). It still remains conscious.

Whale will eventually try to regain its power by self-repairing, yet the eager to regenerate gives the birth for the cancer-like yellow goo, thus the infection.

By the next time player meet the whale, all there be left would be just the yellow goo.

2 versions of blue whale statue (check points for player to rest by)

Formed by blue whale spirit that are too tired to move, and decided to rest and form together with the ground/rock.

After being activated with the player (connect with the huge sperm whale), the statue will continuously emit spirit energy.

Concept art for my metroidvania, where player meets up with the huge sperm whale that's stuck in the mountain beside their first checkpoint.

The sperm whale will talk with the player and give the player the ability to continue on.

The sperm whale's spiritual energy (which should look like huge blood veins bursting out of the whale's body) gives the statue their power for calling back player when they die.
