I agree. I love that in the German translation, she even calls him "Nummer Zwei", meaning "Number 2".
Dunno if it holds exactly the same meaning in English, but in German you mostly use it to refer to someone who is the second best.
My one hot take/ nitpick with the manga English translation is that ‘Second Son’ for 次男/ jinan is a much better and accurate term than ‘Sy-on Boy’. In large part because it sounds more like a taunt, it (unintentionally) hits Damian where it hurts, and the fact that *everyone* at Eden knows him as the Second Son makes it that much worse. It also explains Damian trying extra hard to do well at the school to try to escape from the shadow of his brother.
Nearly everyone at Eden at scions of some rich and powerful family. But there’s only one Second Son of Donovan Desmond.
