1. Principles:
 Slow in and slow out: I used the slow in and slow out, because I wanted to show the weather in a good way, so the clouds and the sound are moving out/in slow.

Squash and Stretch: With the Squash and Stretch I created the crowing of the plants and the hair, moving in the wind.

Overlapping actions: Overlapping actions I used to show a good movement of my figure’s body or more the single party like the arms.

Anticipation: With the anticipation I created the moving of the arms and the rod. I prepared the the audience for the action, before the thunder and lightning are coming up.

Pose to pose: I created the animation with „pose to pose“ to create a more fluid movement.

Secondary action: I used the secondary action for example for my figure. She is moving her arms, while she is moving the rod and while the hair are moving in the wind. At the same time, clouds are coming up and the background is changing.

Solid drawing:I used Solid drawing to give my figure and objects more volume and wanted, that it looks more like a three-dimensional space.

Artist’s Statement

For my final video animation I created a figure that should represent the nature and it’s power. My healthy habit was the protection of the nature and the fact, that you should be careful with the pollution of the nature. It can be a danger for the animals and the nature itself. For this, I wanted to show the power of nature and a kind of hero for it, who shows what the nature can do and what will happen, when you make the nature angry or when all is fine and „she“ is happy. I used especially green colors and natural colors for the objects and my character, to represent the nature with my whole composition. The character should look friendly and at first powerful and sad, because the nature and also the weather has different sides and different powers. So I created a transition from thunder and lightning to a sunrise and growing plants, which make the character happy. I created movements for her arms, hair and face, so that it looks like a good movement transition in combination with the movements of the other objects. Besides the background is chanting the colors, to show the different weather and atmosphere of the different situations. When the my character is doing a powerful, angry movement up to the air, the thunder is coming up and the background is dark and the sound effects are showing tension and creating lightning sounds. The same when the sun is rising, the background is going to be more bright and friendly colors and the music is based on beautiful fairytale sounds. So my character shows on a metaphorical way, that you should be careful with the nature, because „she“ can control the weather and all the life, that is growing on the earth.

I am working on my video idea to show the power of nature. I watched a lot of different tutorials to know how the creation of a video animation works. This is my process of my animation.

In the class today, we should write down our storyboard in words and explain what we are going to do and what’s the story behind the video. Besides I tried to figure out what kind of sound I can use and I wrote down all the different steps in my video and what should happen behind each other. Furthermore I worked on my video and my composition of the single objects into it.

My storyboard for my character design and the video. I want to show the power of nature, suitable to my healthy habit. I created the figure as a representation for the nature and I want her to make a powerful movement for the loop video. I also created the light changing, that should underline her movement.

First elaboration of my Charakter design. I tried to create a figure as a kind of hero or presentation for the nature. My healthy habit was to help to protect the nature and with these character and my final video I want to show the power of nature. She should look cute, friendly and natural to create the perfect representation for the nature.

Once our photos were taken we uploaded them to the computer create the stopmotion using after affects, We were able to create lines of everyone coming together from different locations on the map to represent the different places we live but are able to come together as one at the Te Aro campus where we can put our minds together and collaborating achieve greatness.

After the creation of our story board we printed out the map that we would photograph in the upstairs workspace. We were able to take all of the pictures that we needed to create our stop motion.

We created a rough idea of the storyboard. Our stop motion film is about coming together at Uni, finding each other and express our creativity, in a hub of learning where everyone has similiar goals, we can all relate and help each other to design and create as one another pushes us to be our best versions of ourselves. We decided to express this with the use of a map and using lines from different spots of the map to join at the Uni as we all come together.

Elaboration of the final Poster

I tried to improve my poster after the feedback of my classmates. I changed the text, so that the message is better in combination with the image and didn't repeat two words. Besides I improved a bit my use of colors and the plasticity.

PBA Feedback from my classmates. They wrote that my use of Color is really good. I should work a little bit on the Image from the first poster, the one with the connected faces, because not all of them understand the meaning very Well, just in combination with the text. Besides i have to change my Text on the second poster, so that i won‘t repeat a word. My coloring, the use of my texts and fonts are clear and a good choise and all of them knew what u want to say and what my message is.

The Comparison

My first poster was playful, colorful and made with bright colors, because it was a good, positive topic. I draw it was my hand and it should look like this, because the theme was the importance of teamwork, bonds, relationships and communication for your work and learning process. In comparison to that, I made my second poster the totally different way. I made it just in illustrator and not so bright, because it is a serious, dangerous and sad topic. It should show the danger of environmental pollution and the consequences.

My first elaboration of my second poster. I want to make clear how dangerous plastic in the ocean is for all of the animals. Plastic kills the animals, because they think it’s food or the stuck in the rubbish. So I want to show with these provocatively way that all the people should stop using so much plastic and especially they should stop to throw it away in the nature.

The wale fin in the can should show the killing of animals by plastic on a provocatively, showy way. 

The font seems naturally and playful like the whole poster. I chose this, because my target audience is the younger generation. They are using more and more plastic and don’t care about the pollution, so I want to speak to them with my poster.

Moodboard

I want to show the environmental pollution on a provokant way to the target audience, so that they recognize the danger and the urgency. My Poster should be showy and colored with the colors of the ocean and some brown colors for the rubbish, so that there is a good combination of coloring, which is appealing for the audience.

I want to show the danger of the plastic pollution in the ocean for the animals.
