I seriously can't be the only one seeing the chemistry between Mariko and Toranaga. I don't even try to actively seek it at first, but then there's this constant theme of Mariko being the only one capable of keeping up quick with Toranaga's mind, and he even acknowledged it. It's her greatest trait, she saw through it and joined the masquerade to fit her own purpose. Idk there's just lots of acts and moments between them that got me like HMMM? about them, even when I try to view it differently.

Shogun could be having the most heart wrenching, tear-inducing, emotional scene, and then Toranaga came on screen, and with watery eyes I'd still get immediately distracted like "oh wow he's so handsome-" bruh.....

Crimson sky. The way Mariko was wearing lots of red palette throughout the episode, her clothes, her make up. The way all her bottled up anger finally burst. The way she tried to charge through all those guards by herself. The way her death will turn the tide for Toranaga.
