Today I have too much time on my hands, so I’m changing the map for my Meeks Peaks hood and I’m also thinking of renaming it

I love complicating my life.

Sienna made a little fuss about her diaper change, but thankfully Mama Kaleen dealt with it pretty well.

Sienna is the 3rd generation after my founding Sim in Meeks Peaks (counting the founder as the 1st).

I started building my new bacc with a campsite where all my founders are going to start their lives.

Pleasant Renovations: This time, the renovations were for the Dreamers.

It took me quite some time, and I’m still not 100% pleased with the results. I think my decorating skills need some work - I kinda get bored doing it pretty quickly, idk. But I loved the green decor!

(The only ones who didn’t love it were the owners of the house… oopsies.)

Pleasant Renovations: Just finished building the Oldies a cute little cottage!

I’m thinking they sold their old place to the Burbs (so they’d have somewhere to live now that they’re back in town) and then settled in the countryside part of town.

The 2nd floor isn’t finished because I got lazy. Sorry.

bad news.

i've lost all my progress with my sillet creek bacc.

unfortunately, i had to format my computer, and when i was doing the backup, i didn’t notice that my the sims 2 neighborhoods had gotten corrupted. i ended up losing a legacy and also my pleasantview. sadly, the only survivor was my custom hood, meeks peaks.

i don’t know if i should just give up or create another neighborhood to post. :(

The Handleys' winter began with Barton enjoying a break from the crops, working on his Charisma skill while his son Otis stepped up to care of his little green friends.

As you can see, their farm still needs some improvements. (I get obsessed with symmetrical things sometimes. Sorry!)

Then I decided to take a detour in the middle of the round to place the lot for the - future - family grocery shop, just to get it out of the way and have it ready for when they have enough money. The winter didn’t do my screenshot any favors.

While Barton was out tending the garden and his son was inside, a turn of events occurred: the woman Barton had invited over for his social/charisma goal suddenly decided she hated Otis for absolutely no reason—and wouldn’t stop poking him.

After being poked so many times, Otis had had enough and decided to take action

Then I got a ROS that said they had to dig for treasure 10 times, but I only managed about 5. Otis and I just weren’t having it.

The rest of the round was spent making friends and learning new things.

And just like that, the first year of the Handley household came to an end.

Once again, I started the round by rolling the minor and major events ROS. For the minor, I got: "Roommate wanted: You've been struggling with money, so a roommate sounds like a good idea to give you extra cash, and them a place to stay."

Nothing came up for the major, so I turned to @teaaddictyt list and rolled a 72.

With both ROS in hand, I played them out by creating a new townie Sim.

Welcome in Dean Gaines.

Dexie befriended him so he could move in as her new roommate— Lorewise: he was officially brought to town by none other than our beloved Governor Aberdeen, who thought she could use a little help building up Sillet Creek. And since the rules I’m following require Dexie to become friends with a Sim who has max mechanical skill, I went ahead and randomized his skills to get a starting point—and he rolled 3 mechanical points. So the plan is to start grinding that skill with him.

The roomates week:

Dexie earned herself §500 while Dean was busy on his eternal mechanical grind. I tend to get a little obsessed with this type of goal… sorry, Dean. 😅

I may have let him starve, skip showers, and skip sleep... but the goal was completed on the last day of the round! He definitely deserves a vacation now. 😅🏖

I started the round with a ROS roll—both a minor and a major event. For the minor one, she got: "New outfit: Sick of your current clothes, your sim decides it's time for a new wardrobe. Go shopping and pick out a new everyday outfit for them."

Since our town doesn’t have a clothing shop yet, I played it out as her asking the governor to bring her something new. And, of course, he brought what he thought was appropriate for the season...

As for the major event—well, I didn’t actually get one from the first roll. So I decided to use a ROS from @teaaddictyt modern list instead… and that one turned out to be a real major event.

I got the baby ROS, and since Adelaide didn’t have a partner, I decided to take things into my own hands and make a move on her friend Alec. I waited what felt like an eternity for him to walk by on the street—and when he finally did, I got to work.

She greeted him with a cute little kiss, and in that moment, I knew for sure he was going to be the father of her baby. Adelaide wasn’t worried about anything else—she just wanted that baby in her arms.

They flirted for a bit, and BOOM—they fell in love. She even rolled the want to get engaged, so I moved him in and had him pop the question. Now Alec Akagi (soon-to-be Dupree) is officially the newest resident of Sillet Creek.

(I could have saved the "new clothes" ROS and used on him... but nope. Now we’re stuck with his fashion sense.)

Adelaide didn’t waste any time with the baby-making, either—but just as things were about to take off, fate intervened: our very first burglar showed up right after their first attempt! The thief got away with five items from the house... what a night. 😅

LMAO —Webster saw the burglar coming in and said, “Not my problem.” Unbothered. Unmoved. Untouchable. Our true king. 👑

And the round ended with a pregnant Adelaide washing clothes in the sink.

Barton started his round with one goal in mind: to take Dexie’s place.

His life has been pretty calm so far, with his green son.

Otis grown into an adult Plantsim. I used a Perchance generator I created to randomize his aspiration, turn-ons, and turn-offs—let's see how these choices shape his future!

They spent the rest of the week tending to their garden before winter came.

Dexie started her round going through an aspiration failure… which, honestly, is totally on me for making her focus only on work last week. I guess even -future- mayors need fun sometimes.

I promise I’m gonna go easy on her next round. Girl deserves a break.

Throughout her round, I also decided to implement a new rule: for her to unlock the Lobbyist promotion, she now has to (in addition to the usual requirements of the rule set I’m following—a mix of this one and this) become best friends with the governor and earn his favor.

Politics isn’t just about skills—it’s about connections.

But also… it is about skills. That’s why our girl’s been spending a lot of time talking to herself in the mirror—working on that charisma like her future depends on it. Because it kinda does.

OH! That is, until I rolled a ROS (@teaaddictyt modern ROS) for her. It turned out to be a pet ROS, and that’s how Kobe showed up. Totally unexpected, but Dexie was all for it. Guess a little company around the house doesn’t hurt.

Thankfully, Governor Aberdeen provided all the essentials: food bowls, toys, and a dog bed. A bit too late for the sofa, though.

Despite the rough start, the dog turned out to be a great addition to the household. In the middle of the week, he spotted Alec walking by and ran over to play with him—immediately catching the attention of our favorite townie. Adelaide didn’t waste any time. She joined them outside, started chatting… and then started flirting just to see how Alec would react. Turns out, he was very much into it—because they KISSED. Right there on the sidewalk. Looks like things might be heating up in Sillet Creek.

The rest of her week was calm and cozy, spent bonding with her new pet and enjoying a bit of peace after all the excitement.

Barton started his round with a simple yet important goal: improving his cleaning skill. Feeling proud of his small improvement, he decided to put his new skills to the test. With a pile of laundry in front of him, Barton opted for the most logical solution: washing his clothes in the kitchen sink. It wasn’t the most conventional way to do laundry, but it was all he could manage with his limited abilities. At least he tried—and that's what mattered most for him.

Later, Barton decided it was time to be a little more social. He met Charlie Tang, and the two quickly got along. Barton was happy to make a new friend—until that friendship resulted in a very clogged toilet. Much appreciated, Charlie.

From there, his slightly chaotic, almost Stardew Valley-like life carried on as usual... but only for a short while.

At some point, Barton got very enthusiastic about caring for his plants. As anyone would, he sprayed them generously and often. Unfortunately, it turns out that over-spraying is not exactly recommended—especially when mysterious green sparkles start to appear.

Before he knew it, Barton was covered in leaves, glowing a suspicious shade of green, and looking... honestly, kind of adorable. That's when I decided to roll a die to seal his fate. I asked myself, "What if he ends up with a baby sprout?" I rolled a d6: 1–2 meant yes, 3–6 meant no. And guess what? It was a 1.

But his plant-filled days weren’t over just yet. I rolled the die again, this time to see if he’d get cured at the end of the round or if he’d have to continue this leafy life a little longer. 1–2 and he’d be free; 3–6 and he’d stay green for two more rounds. And the dice showed mercy.

Barton was finally cured by the end of the week—no longer part of the garden, just a man with a (very weird) story to tell.

And now… meet Otis! The tiniest, leafiest new resident of Sillet Creek.

The McCans’ round began with a bang—quite literally. A tree in the front yard caught fire, marking a chaotic start to what was supposed to be a calm day. Luckily, the flames were dealt with quickly, and no major damage was done… aside from the nerves.

Not long after, Governor Aberdeen was seen walking through the neighborhood, doing what governors do—checking in on the state of things. Seeing an opportunity, McCan invited him to join her for dinner. It wasn’t the best of meals—she’s got zero cooking skill, after all—but it was the thought (and the networking) that counted.

She may have started the round with a fire, but who knows—maybe she’s also sparked the beginning of a new friendship. Hopefully, she and Governor Aberdeen will become close allies in time.

After wrapping up her first day with a bit of social grace, she headed straight to bed. She needed the rest—tomorrow was the real beginning.

The next day marked the official start of her political journey. With ambition in her heart and paperwork in her briefcase, she stepped into the world of politics. From then on, her days followed a simple, focused rhythm: sleep, work, eat—repeat. It wasn’t glamorous yet, but it was the grind that would lead her to something greater.

At the end of the week, she hosted a greetings party. It was a smart move and a heartfelt one too.
