How does Princess Carolyn, Mr. Peanutbutter and Diane tie into your BojackDDAU?

Princess carolyn- mostly the same, but her and Bojack never dated and have a much healthier relationship

Mr peanutbutter- still stars in Mr peanutbutter’s house. Bojack would not be mean to him or hate him as much as canon Bojack, he’s mostly just sort of thrown off by him/doesn’t know what to make of him. His kindness seems fake to Bojack

Diane still ends up writing a book about him, I think. Despite this Bojack being emotionally healthier and less obsessed with fame, he still probably would want a book written about him? I feel like his motivations might be a little different for it though. I’ll have to think more on this…

Anyway, him and Diane have a healthier friendship in this au than in canon

How would Herb ended Horsin Around had he not been outed yet? In your DDAU would Herb be able to stay in the closet until he ended the show on his own terms?

Herb probably gives Horsin Around some feel good, saccharine ending. I’m not sure if Herb himself would be the one to choose when it ends, it would probably be the network executives who decide that. With herb staying on board, the show likely wouldn’t have had as sharp of a decline as it seems to have had in canon, but it probably wouldn’t have lasted that much longer regardless, since 9 years is already a pretty long time for a show to air. Maybe Horsin around would last 10 years instead.

I’m thinking Herb is able to stay in the closet longer, though I’m not exactly sure when/if he gets outed, or if he’s able to come out on his own terms.

Most of my posts about my aus are silly but realistically if Bojack and Herb got together, after they got through the honeymoon phase, their relationship would have a lot of ups and downs as they figure out how to actually make things work. Because Bojack is, well, a dysfunctional person in general, and even if herb could be a stabilizing influence on Bojack, obviously he’s not going to be able to erase Bojack’s problems. I can see them getting into fights sometimes, maybe even almost breaking up a few times, but I think they could probably work things out.

I think for their relationship to ultimately be successful and healthy in the long run, Bojack would probably need to start going to therapy and getting treatment for his mental illnesses. (Herb would probably also benefit from therapy because getting outed would be traumatic if him no matter what, and even if he mostly recovered on his own, I think he still had unresolved issues from it)
