twenty-eight stab wounds
alright guys i’ve got a hot new theory
as we all know, carloz ortiz’s android stabbed him twenty-eight times AND worshipped rA9
BUT
if you take rA9, substitute the letters for numbers and add them together, i.e.
r = 18
A = 1
9 = 9
you get twenty-eight.
so what if the reason the android didn’t stop after ortiz was dead wasn’t anger?what if it was just another kind of offering to his god?
just a thought.
(credit to @constant-vellichor for making my theory intelligible)

I know we all love Connor’s “I like dogs” ( ゚ヮ゚) moment cause, I mean…. bless him.
But can we talk about it in more detail for a second? Connor’s probably never been near a dog in his short existence - the same way he’s never listened to music. He sounds so fucking dorky about it too. "I LIKE DOGS :) :) :)” but you can tell if you asked him what he actually thinks of dogs, he probably couldn’t tell you a single thing beyond a textbook definition of why dogs make good companion animals.
He tells Hank he likes music, and that he likes dogs, because it suits his mission objective to get along with Hank. He deploys these pieces of information strategically, in an attempt at establishing a common ground with Hank. He does it in the same way he sympathises with Daniel. It’s actually quite mercenary.
But I love contrasting that with the moment later on, when you can have Connor pet Sumo. You can almost see the thoughts playing out in his face. “So this is what I said I liked. I see. What does it feel like? What did I mean?”
You can see him considering, understanding.
It’s one of Connor’s earliest displays of real emotion. One of the first things he ever does just for himself. and it means so much more in the context of his robotic “I LIKE DOGS” moment earlier in the game.

Connor is a fuckin’ terminator and you should be scared of him
And I don’t mean just in the parallels to Skynet way. Connor was designed to detect and hunt down deviants, and I feel like it’s safe to assume he was working on his own for a time. The reason I say that is because of the introduction to the game and Connor. Captain Allen’s men call him “The Negotiator”. That’s very different from “the detective” or “the deviant hunter”. Connor also already has his coin in the elevator and I’ll explain why that’s important later. So, Cyberlife has created this machine that‘s more athletic than Ethan Hunt, has the mental capabilities of Sherlock Holmes and then some, and is trained how to fight and use fire arms. That’s one hell of a machine. He’s also the perfect spy, as all models after the original Chloe have passed the Turing test and removing any android markers leaves him almost identical to humans. There’s no fucking way this guy was just meant to be some rinkydink police officer ‘droid.
Okay, so Connor is the android equivalent of Batman, why does that matter? Well, if Cyberlife didn’t create him to be a police officer or a detective, then what did they create him for? Extermination. He isn’t designed to capture deviants and figure out why they are deviants, he’s designed to kill them. Eradicate the problem with direct action. That’s why we lose trust from Amanda when we don’t capture Rupert (pigeon guy) or kill the Traci, or really any of the people we needed to catch. It’s because capturing is not the endgame, termination is. So, you might be asking yourself “Why does Cyberlife partner him with the police department then?” Well, here’s like the actual theory part:
I think that Connor was designed to be a sort of assassin android but he had complications. A couple bugs here and there that needed working out. So, Cyberlife decided the best way to test and properly fix these errors was to put him in situations that would emulate the work he would actually be doing. High stress situations such as talking down a deviant android have less stakes when you’re surrounded by a SWAT team with itchy trigger fingers. The only reason Cyberlife didn’t get to finished polishing up Connor’s model, AI, and programming, is because he gets assigned to Hank. I feel one of the biggest pieces of evidence I have for this theory is the fact Connor isn’t a unique model. As in, there’s many additional Connor’s standing by, waiting to replace -51 and get updated programming to prevent failure again. This also means that once they perfect Connor, they have a literal Connor army. Cyberlife would be able to taken down a country in a matter of days with an army of androids like that, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what they were trying to do. If you take over the U.S, you can change any laws or policies that prevent you from getting richer, right?
Anyways, rant over. TL;DR, Connor could easily end the entire revolution by himself if it weren’t for those pesky emotions.

wait— so, Markus is an RK-200 model and Connor is an RK-800, so what the fuck happened in between there. I mean, they’re both prototypes, so maybe Cyberlife was trying to see if they could make an android that is perfect at one specific job?

Detroit and the laws of robotics
I noticed something after playing DBH. Each of the three main characters have the opportunity to break or follow one of Issac Asimov’s three laws.
1) A robot may not injure a human, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
The first law applies to Kara, who has the ability to shoot Todd when escaping the house and break the law, or follow the law by leaving Todd unharmed and escaping with Alice. Removing Alice from the dangerous situation follows the second half of the law.
2) A robot must obey orders given it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
The second law applies to Connor. When visiting Kamski’s home, Kamski orders Connor to kill the Chloe for information about deviants. Refusing Kamski’s order breaks the law, but depending on how you view android lives at that point (ideally as equal to humans), killing Chloe would also break the law.
3) A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
The final law applies to Markus. When Leo starts attacking Markus, Carl orders him not to defend himself. Normally, Markus pushing Leo away wouldn’t break the law, but because Carl orders him not to and pushing Leo ends up harming him, Markus defending himself would break all three laws.

Connor lies (I think)
Okay so, in the cutscene right before the interrogation scene with Ortiz’s android, Connor tells Gavin that torturing the deviant won’t do anything because androids can’t feel pain. He says this unprompted by the player and that’s important.
Later, if you choose to explore the office while Captain Fowler is yelling at Hank, you can talk to Gavin and given you choose the “right” dialogue options Gavin will punch Connor in the stomach. This makes Connor bowl over and fall to the floor a bit because, I mean, Gavin just punched us in the gut ouch right? But that isn’t what should’ve happened. Connor “can’t feel pain” so he would’ve just stood there or maybe taken a step or two backwards.
I believe Connor lies about androids feeling pain, but only sort of. It seems the closer androids are to deviating, the more pain they can register. In the intro Connor gets shot in the shoulder and doesn’t react at all. He’s also fresh out from Cyberlife and very much not a deviant. The longer we meddle though and impress our own morals onto the characters, Connor gets closer to deviation. So, like, a maid android (like Kara and Markus) would probably be able to feel pain much faster than, say, a cashier android because they are surrounded by humans impressing morality n’ shit onto their learning AI’s.
