Anyway, Patroclus didn't die because of Achilles' pride. If Achilles' pride had its way, they would be back in Phthia chilling with their loot.
Patroclus died because of Patroclus's pride*. He put on a demigod's armor and thought, oh, it's on, bitches, and then tried to storm the city of Troy by his own damn self. Got thrown off a wall by a god and then was like fuck that I'm climbing it again. And again. Zero recollection that Achilles told him not to go past the ships, just stab stab fuck yeah
Achilles' plan was solid. It just turns out Patroclus shouldn't be left alone near Trojans.
*Also that whole "Zeus doomed him for his own purposes" thing

As much as I like Hermes in Epic the musical I dont want to see him singing in the Ilium musical. Why? The only thing I remember Hermes doing in the Iliad is guiding Priam to Achilles and that is definetelly not the time for an upbeat song... maybe just hearing his motiff will be enough
#I am not against Troy casted as another singing role tho#I just dont want Hermes giggling while Priam is walking to beg for his son's corpse#ilium the musical#Epic the musical#Yapping#That whole scene is heartbreaking really#Unless they decide to replace Iris with Hermes#But then we are closing the doors to new talents
