Okay. I feel like I need to say something about the statement "butches and studs who date straight women." I hear it all the time on TikTok, usually as an excuse to run us down and accuse us of toxic masculinity, so let's talk about it.

How is a woman who is willingly in a relationship with a butch or stud straight? That is not a heterosexual relationship! Some of you equate being conventionally feminine with being straight, and it's not it. Femme lesbians are an integral part of this community too.

It's also not a crime for butches and studs to like women who are very feminine, or to want to take on a more traditionally masculine role in a relationship. Lesbian relationships and dynamics are unique and special, and at no point do they become heterosexual.

you HAVE to expand what your mental image of what a woman looks like in order to progress past trans/misogyny and intersexism. when you finally accept that "woman" does not have a set look or sound, you free yourself from the chains of both patriarchy and radfem ideals. "woman" does not mean thin, pretty, hairless, short, quiet, large breasted, hour glass figured, weak, submissive, high voiced, or small.

women can and do look, act, and sound like anything. cis, intersex, trans, butch, non binary, gender non conforming, detrans, or anything else: any woman can look, act and sound like anything. we are just as diverse as any other member of this population. in order to acknowledge this, we must let go of the concept that a woman "should" look, act, or sound like anything.

bring back butches that boldly express sexual desire. butches that see you staring at them with interest and slight lust in yours and challenge your stare head on. butches who aren't afraid to smile and flirt. butches with eyes that survey you from head to toe unafraid to catch your own. butches that play along with the old age song and dance. butches that see you tease them and respond with teasing actions of their own. for the love of all things holy bring back butches that can recognize femmes.
