not to get too deep on main but did anyone else have such deeply rooted issues with their self worth for so long that they thought as a kid/teen that their only redeeming feature was being “low maintenance” and now as an adult you give yourself guilt pangs asking for any more than the barest minimum in virtually any relationship because asking for things might negate your only good quality which is just “doesn’t ask for things”

jelle hc evolution!jelle edition: imagine elle returns (somehow, a story for a different hc) and she’s like assisting on a case or something.

her and jj are going over theories and ideas and as jj is breaking down the unsub’s actions and patterns, building a strong profile, elle is just sitting their admiring her.

when elle doesn’t say anything – agreeing or disagreeing – jj looks up. “what?”

“nothing,” elle responds, a fond smile on her face. “i always knew you had a bit of profiler in you, agent jareau.”

and she means it. elle always saw jj’s importance in her role as media liaison, but also the blonde’s potential as a profiler.

“i had some pretty good teachers,” jj says, locking eyes with the other woman, her words hinting at all the times elle encouraged her to voice her ideas or the ways she would explain unsub tendencies to her.
