I was just silly doodling a strange experience I have and apparently I am not the only person who has it because it's currently at 82 Thousand likes and Climbing and it has boosted my measly little six hundred and seventy follower number on there to like almost 800 and like. It’s sad, but I’ve sat down and given it some thought about what starting positions would be the most likely to result in a peaceful planet, and this is what I came up with:

The University of Planet and The Morganites get the centre continent; as the morganites rarely declare war on anyone, and the University thrives when it’s just being left alone; but the relatively small amount of space between the both of them would be enough as neither are particularly expansionist.  The University trades tech for cash, The Morgans keep buying tech with their ample energy reserves to ensure that they don’t fall behind on the tech tree.  The Morgans get the Garland Crater; giving extra minerals to make up for the support hit, and the University get the Uranium Flats; acting as a buffer between the Morgans and the Gaians.

The Gaians have the north part of the left continent; including Pholus Ridge and the Ruins; sharing the Freshwater Sea with The U.N Peacekeeping Forces who can expand onwards to the Straights of Prometheus and Mount Planet to make up for their lack of bonus-giving landmarks.  Both factions are pro-democratic and tend to use either green or planned economics, so should get along just fine.

The Lord’s Believers, trigger-happy bastards, are best kept away from the rest of the planet; so they’d do best up on the Isle of Deianira.  Their lack of landmass to occupy is made up for by the fact that they seem to be the faction most eager to take to the oceans when it comes to sea-bases.  

If they’re going to attack, then their closest neighbours are The Human Hive - who have been placed by the Upland Wastes in order to control their rabid population growth, and are more than capable of repelling any invasion by the Believers.  They also have the Sunny Mesa - which suits their absolute obsession with terraforming solar panels.

Alas, the Hive are also trigger-happy, so to the south of the continent by the Monsoon Jungle and Cape Storm is The Spartan Federation; possibly the only force which, when they have enough bases, would be capable of repelling a Hive invasion.  The Monsoon Jungle would provide the nutrients capable of keeping the Spartan population booming enough to keep up with the Hive, and hopefully the fact that the two most natively aggressive factions have the largest landmass would deter them from expanding into the more peaceful nations…at least until they have out-teched them enough to safely repel any invasion with superior firepower.

So!  This would be the ideal layout to play on!  The positions which would allow for a peaceful Chiron…or at least a stable one.
