Non Viable Dreams: a tribute to Smooth Chill Radio is just that - a celebration of the ethos behind the station, "to help listeners relax and put stress behind themselves" or as one listener put it, "T'ai chi for your ears". The last bastion of peak smooth ambient downtempo chill and trip hop that emerged in the early nineties, Smooth Chill radio today has a dedicated base of core followers who have been following the station since its inception in 2004. Today the station is home to the familiar strains of Morcheeba, Moby and Massive Attack - serving up a steaming mug of downtempo to drown out the horrors of the outside world, a worthy endeavour we're sure you'll agree. In order to pay homage to SCR, the wider Emotion Wave community have dusted off their fretless basses, Roland D-50s and pan flutes to bring an exceptional compilation of chilltrax designed to whisk you away from Sorrowville and ease you gently into Chill Central. All proceeds from this release go to James House, a Liverpool/London based charity who work to prevent male suicide.
