Regarding the Amazon Rainforest

I barely have followers here, but here we go:

The Amazon Rainforest has been burning for the last 16 days straight. The Brazilian government says the wildfire is caused by the winter itself, since it doesn't rain a lot there... in a rainforest. It is actually, partially true. Winter is indeed a dry season and wildfires may happen, specially close to the Cerrado (a brazilian biome similar to the african Savanna), but what they're not telling us is that:

The deforestation has increased 80% since last year

The native peoples and animals are being slaughtered for their lands (legally protected green areas)

The government is hiding and lying about scientific data, saying that environmentalists and NGOs are communists trying to destroy the nation. They are brainwashing people to think that sustainability is terrible for the economy

Our Minister of Environment is couldn't care less about the environment and is only there to support the livestock producers and give them what they want. The President and his Minister won't put a single dollar on environmental safety

The wildfires are just so huge that its black smoke and ashes reached the skies of São Paulo, a state over 2.000 kilometers away from the Amazon.

We are hostages or our own government

I could just keep going all night about how our environment is being threatened by this new government. We need every single help we can possibly can.

Please don't let this go unseen. Search for yourself, talk to people about it, make noise, be angry and be scared. Let the world know about it and demand action. This is not about Brazil, is about the planet. The Amazon Rainforest is one of the most important biomes in the world, being responsible for the climate, rains, biodiversity, carbon sequestration and life itself.

How to help the Amazon !!

Hey, I know things look scary with the Rain Forest burning and all that and it is indeed grimm and i’m aware this is mostly the fault of corporations and far-right President Jair Bolsonaro but here’s some things you can do to help even a little.

Stop buying products with palm oil

Sign this petition started by The Army for Climate for banning commercial deforestation that already has 4 million signatures but the more the better

Ecosia, the eco-friendly search engine has stated that they are planting millions of more trees in response to this disaster. You can help by changing your default search engine from google to Ecosia!

Donate to SOS Amazônia they are a big conservation organization that is trying to save the Amazon

Donate to AmazonWatch who are also trying their hardest to protect the trees and the animals in the rain forest!

Everything helps even a little I know its tempting to fall into despair and this is not the fault of the common man but even a little helps and if nothing please reblog this to spread the message.

DON’T SCROLL PAST THIS

for the last 2+ weeks, the Amazon has been catching fire. Yes, it’s the season where that’s normal but because of the sayings (aka incentive) of our new president, some farmers are taking advantage of that and intentionally setting the trees on fire. Yesterday, because of this, the sky of São Paulo looked like this. AT THREE IN THE AFTERNOON.

Hospitals of the northern states are filling up with people (especially children and seniors) claiming they can’t breathe properly. ALREADY ENDANGERED ANIMALS ARE DYING. THIS IS SERIOUS.

Germany and Norway, huge donators to the Amazon cause will stop sending money because they don’t see results (that can also be credited to our president, who has been tweeting angrily ever since - not because he cares about the environment, btw). That money gives this guy and his team equipment to save little guys like these:

THIS AFFECTS EVERYONE, NOT JUST BRAZILIANS. The Amazon is the largest rainforest in the world, and it’s being destroyed. WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING.

If your country is holding elections, vote for someone who cares about this. Don’t let another Bolsonaro or another Trump have the power to do something and then do nothing. This is going to shape our future — if we have one.

I need help.

Right now I’m stuck in a perpetual loop of absolute bullshit.

Some time two weeks ago $100 of unauthorized charges appeared on my PayPal account (from Twitch). I disputed these charges, dropped Twitch an e-mail and contacted my bank.

Twitch didn’t respond. PayPal went through with the dispute, and refunded me.

Then the nightmare happened. PayPal suddenly went to -$99.75 and constantly, in a neverending cycle kept charging me for $100. My bank account then went into the negative, draining my savings pretty much right then and there.

I contacted PayPal support last week, they didn’t get back to me after three failed attempts. So I contacted my bank to report the charges again, and they refunded me again (thank you, DCU) but…

… I thought it was done. I filed away papers to ensure this wouldn’t happen anymore. Then I was hit with more charges all over again. So now I have to go through the process all over once-more. I’m contacting PayPal support this time directly (via Twitter and their phone number) to hopefully get it resolved, but I need help until this whole thing gets resolved.

This whole thing on top of everything else is causing me to literally rip my hair out.

My baby girl—who is my life which is my little 4 year old chihuahua is in need of of a surgery. She has a tumor and is inndeed of a surgery to remove it and treatment for her breast cancer. PLEASE PLEASE…donate money. I know I have no right to ask for such a thing specially my inactivity. But I will draw a sketch to everyone who donates.

I don’t have that much of a following compared to others but Please, if everyone donates a dollar we will be able to have that surgery for her and give her a better chance at life!

Uh…Hello everybody, this isn’t Mint. Maybe some of you know me; I’m Lina Okazaki, a Mint’s friend.

Well, as you may know, Mint it’s from Venezuela and in this moment, the country is having a really, but really bad time. There’s not electricity, for the same there is almost no potable water. They don’t have internet or telephone signal, it’s really hard communicate with someone in Venezuela and… I don’t know how she is in this moment….

She told once that if she doesn’t respond to me in three days, I post a note in her tumblr and try to help her, for that reason she trusted me his tumblr password and some of her financial information.

I’m really worried, not going to lie, the term of three days finished yesterday in the night. For that reason, I came with a petition.
