damian: if i had a nickel for everytime the red hood has slept w a parental figure of mine, i would have two. which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it has happened twice.

jason, in the distance: make that 3 nickels.

bruce and jason get absolutely wasted together one random night in his study and EVERYONE is hauling ass to stop the impending violent disaster only for them to see the two of them giggling over the cookie raid of 2008. and it's one of the few moments where everything is sticking itself back together before everything went to hell.

it's sweet, it's nice, it's sad, it's melancholic -- the true definition of bitter sweet because they'll both pretend that this never happened. that it was simply a truce for however long it takes to get thru the bottle or before they fall asleep. jason sees the man he could have grown up with and knows that it's not just the liquor that has him feeling warm. and god, bruce is laughing. he's laughing, it's low and rumbling so different from how he remembers his own laugh sounding but it's genuine and it feels good, no matter how fleeting.

just thinking about the reactions of the others because for all the shit brujay have done to each other, have done to the family, it feels like a violation, a loss, an admittance to defeat that it’s bruce and jason that have managed to make each other smile in this family. no amount of forced hugs, or offers to hangout, or late night roof top sits have managed to produce something so uncomplicatedly nice like this.

dick, tim, and damian watch their father act like a human being and their brother set on stone walling them, accept him, accept bruce with flushed cheeks and rough cackles.

it hurts, and for once, the pain inflicted by brujay is completely unintentional

I realized earlier that both Tina and Amy have fantasies about their guys wearing overalls with no shirt underneath and I’m not sure what to do with this information but it feels important. Anyway, cinematic parallels and all that.

How many of the big developments – like the addition of the Amy and Bernadette characters – did you plan in advance? Bill Prady: … The characters added themselves by virtue of what the other characters thought of them. So there was never a master plan, there was never a design, there was never a decision to approach a particular demographic. It was always the natural evolution. You try to make fictional characters real, and in the course of doing that, if you truly listen to characters, and you say, “Well, Sheldon liked Amy. Why wouldn’t he want to see her again?” The premise of the arrival of Amy is that Wolowitz and Koothrappali do a perfect online dating profile, and turn up a woman who’s perfect for him. So that’s what we set out to write in that episode. Well, the consequence of creating a person who’s perfect for somebody is, what would be the reason that person wouldn’t want to see her again? So we said, “All right, well, let’s have her come back one more time, and see what happens.” And you go, “Oh, that went well.”

They’re an unstoppable-force-meets-immovable-object thing to write. It always baffles me how Amy has gotten Sheldon to move. That’s always amazing.

With Sheldon, you have a character who comes from a place of “NO.” “No I’m not going to change at all.” And it’s interesting for someone in the writers room to say, “Well, what if Amy did this…?” 

And then you go, “Ok, yeah, Sheldon would give in at that point. — Bill Prady, Comic-Con (2013)
