Mordred - In Depth

Mordred is the son of Sonic the Hedgehog and Morgana, Morgan le fey. He was born in a hut in the enchanted forest far from Camelot as he was a child born from adultery.

His mother had no real love for him as she was highly infatuated with the king. During one of the kings safe sides of the hex he took Mordred to the exiled queen Guinevere and begged her to raise him away from the witch. Despite carrying her own child she agreed so long as Sonic never returned to see her. He was devastated but agreed.

Mordred had a very off upbringing. Guinevere loved him as her own but never lied to him. She told him the truth of his life and told him that she may not have birthed him but he was her heart outside her body. As a child around the age of 5 he began classes and saw his father off and on through the days.

Even as a child he had a very rocky relationship with his father as he saw the various shifts in his behaviors and personality but also struggled to deal with the fact he had betrayed his mother and queen in such a way. On days he stayed at the castle he didn't speak much to his father. Answering his question but spent most of his time with Gwain and Percival. Sonic hated their distance and tried to patch it but it was hard. Mordred often told his father he hated him for hurting his mother and for constantly wandering away.

Sonic once agreed to take Mordred to a dragon slaying despite protests from Lancelot and Caliburn claiming he is but a child. He ignored the protests and took Mordred to a slaying. Mordred felt a speck of closeness with his father in the moment and their relationship started to blossom. He would tell his father about lessons and his mother. There was a subtle deep relationship. Until the enchantress invited herself to the castle.

Mordred hated her with a fiery passion and begged his father to rid Avalon of her. He declined such a thing as he had no control over the hex that effected both him and Caliburn at times. He removed himself from the castle and cut off any emotional relationship.

By the time he was 17, Mordred had watched the kingdom decline into ruin under his fathers tyrannical take over. He told his mother that he wished to reclaim Avalon in her honor and restore the kingdom as it was prior to his father. When he returned to Camelot along with Galahad who was 15 and the ex knights of the round table Percival and Gwain he had discovered just how bad it had become. Innocent lives taken by both the king and Lancelot under an iron rule. He blamed the witch only to learn of her execution and rode into the town with dire conviction. He challenged his father for the throne and to release the land from his tyranny. Sonic despite the hexes control he knew exactly that this was his child and pleaded with Mordred to talk about this and to just come back to the castle as a prince. Mordred declined and proceeded to attack his father despite Sonics reluctance to fight him. Caliburn (effected by the hex placed on the scabbard) yelled for the king to fight for his honor. Eventually Sonic fought back despite not wanting to hurt his own child. He fought carelessly and inevitably met his downfall due to his crippled anxiety to strike down his child. He was fatally wounded and this released the hex from him and the scabbard. This freed him and Caliburn and he could no longer stand. He collapsed amongst the battle and his son picked him up. He begged Mordred to forgive him and begged he to tell his mother how sorry he was. He told Mordred of his love for his child and wife and he wished to wrong such a mistake. He was placed amidst a gold coffin filled with white lilies at the shore of the ocean. As he passed he was guided into the waves to be taken by the sea.

Mordred returned to Camelot and took his place as king. He was bestowed Caliburn by his mother and ruled over Avalon the way his father only dreamed of.

Kingsmen AU - SatBK

After the final battle with Melina and convincing her that life has its end and to live it to the fullest and changing two of the three knights perspectives on knighthood Sonic was deemed as the one and true king Arthur. While he originally rejected the idea he soon decided that this world needed him more. So he took the throne with Caliburn. He stepped up as the one true king and ruled with his steadfast heart of gold. He eventually met his queen Guinevere and ruled along side her. The scabbard that had been tainted unfortunately by the lady of the lake had purified and became the royal scabbard of Excalibur (Caliburn) when the true king took over.

As his years progressed he was met by an enchantress Morgan le Fay (Morgana) who used her magic to reclaim the scabbard into its previous state without Sonic knowing. The scabbards poisoned state turned into a Hex that potentially possessed and altered Sonics mind. He later left Guinevere to have an affair with Morgana and she birthed him a son Mordred. The hexes magic worked off and on and would leave him in bipolar states of mind where he would regret his affair then fall under the hex and rule as she wanted. Morgana to prevent the lady of the lake to save him she executed her swiftly.

During a state of pure mindset he took Mordred to Guinevere to raise as her child as he was at risk of Morgan's hex. She reluctantly agreed and raised Mordred as her child while also carrying the child of Lancelot who ended up having a relationship after she was exiled from the throne.

Sonic became very unstable and went rough phases of loving his child and ex wife while also exiling them as seeing nothing good from them due to the hexes power. Lancelot as the kings most loyal knight ruled by Sonics side as he slowly descended into madness. Sonic asked him to train both Mordred and Galahad as knights when they were of age and he trained them to believe the idea of the Kings rule being absolute. Percival and Gawain however, saw that Sonic was becoming tyrannical and left the knights of the round table.

His rule became unjust and he began executing those who did not agree to his rule. Morganas hex was so powerful he eventually could no longer break through it and was left at its mercy. He eventually slayed her but the hex did not let up.

As time progressed his son Mordred stepped up to claim the throne and challenged his father for the kingdom riding into Camelot with Galahad and Gawain and Percival. He challenged his father while Galahad challenged his. Gawain and Percival fought the remaining knights. Mordred struck down his father and as he lay dying the hex was released and he was returned. In his dying breath he apologized to his son and begged that he rule better then himself. He begged that he apologize to his mother as she deserved better before he passed. Set on a boat into the ocean to forever rest peacefully.

Galahad has defeated his father and gave him the option to live or die as he wanted. Lancelot thanked his son for his skill and asked him to slay him as a knight should be. Galahad couldn't bare it and begged of Mordred to do it. Mordred agreed but Lancelot displeased at his sons lack of backbone fought once more only to have to be forcefully killed by Galahad as a last ditch effort to end the madness.

Mordred took the throne and reclaimed Avalon in the arms of peace.
